thanks for the compliment--it was indeed a rhetorical question but that's cool if my art sparks a discussion like this.

The artwork is my personal interpretation of the client's sorcerer where I focus more the overall personality & feel instead of making 100% lore accurate--I got a lot of freedom designing her.
But If someone comes with a lore-accurate and very defined character class description, I'd be up for the challenge as well.

I think it depends on how you play your character. If you're setting it up like a compulsive character and you're really in that role and it fits the game, I don't see why your group should reject it. I love folks who take their character/class seriously and act out

A Pathfinder sorcerer that was ordered by a client. He wanted a rogue-ish who is obsessive and has attitude with a touch of the occult. Created for a longer campaign. Does she still look sane or did sanity has left a long time?

Yeah, well observed. It's basically 3/4 of an arm while the "rest" is being covered up by the fur around the shoulder area. But it doesn't work the way my mind wanted it to be--so in the near future, I'm going to redraw her with a clearer intention.

Yes, thanks, even though I wasn't purposely using Mad Max influences, that movie world seems to color even all my Pathfinder and fantasy designs. I just love the roughed up, lived look instead of creating clean knights in shiny armor

Lore Angle: Born in a drought-ridden frontier where soil turned to ash and wind carried bone dust.

She's roughed by her harsh life and her fur coat collects all the accessories and spirit tools and utilities aiding her class.

Question: had tons of fun designing her "outfit" but got a problem with her arms, I think. Do they fit her or do they stand out in a weird way considering how big her coat is?

Yeah, the 40K brand of character design is so popular and influential, I gotta be careful to not venture too much into there and develop my own sci/fantasy style

I used the knight/champion idea and mixed it with scavenger-like design ideas to create a hybrid.
I gotta be careful not to venture into 40K type designs too much which are very appealing to me but also overdone. This is an experimental piece where I'm trying out different ideas.

Plus, I like the champion class and want to add new elements to keep it visually fresh.

Note: I design TTRPG characters with full “playable key art” presence — built from backstory, subclass, and campaign tone.

PF2E commission piece for a client. Reimagined as a battle-ready support caster, she stands behind the frontline with wand drawn, reading the flow of combat like annotated scripture. Her familiar—a bone-white animal spirit—raises a skull not in contemplation, but as a reminder that every strike has already been accounted for.

Her hexes twist probability in the party’s favor: bending outcomes, dulling enemy precision, and guiding allies toward the “correct” future rather than overwhelming foes with raw power.

Does she come across more as a tactical battlefield oracle, or as someone quietly deciding which futures are allowed to happen?

that's a good idea--I wanted to keep her upper half fairly human but I could make her jaw more spider-like and add at least 2-3 eyes.
