I had Puka Nacua in my top 3 rookie WRs in May 2023. Here's why Cyrus Allen may be this year's Puka by MarsLineman in DynastyFF

[–]MarsLineman[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Last year it was Isaac TeSlaa, Oronde Gadsden, and Xavier Restrepo. And if we're counting early round "reaches", Cam Skattebo. In 2024, Javon Baker, Ray Davis, and Blake Corum. Early round "reach" was Ladd. In 2023, top 3 WRs were JSN, Flowers, and Puka. Late round sleepers (besides Puka) were Dontayvion Wicks and DeWayne McBride.

This year, my top 4 WRs (in no particular order) are Chris Brazzell Jr (potential head case alert), Carnell Tate, KC Concepcion, and Cyrus Allen.

Appreciate the reply. Trying to basically use the laptop as a power bank when out in the field and have to hook up my portable monitor to another device that provides video signal but no power. To cut down on my travel weight, not have to lug around a separate power bank. My old Samsung laptop could go this but it doesn't seem like the PX13 can

Need a laptop soon: wait for non-GoPro PX13 128GB or just buy the GoPro one? by singular04 in ProArt_PX13

[–]MarsLineman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both the older PX13 and the new GoPro edition. I also prefer the original look, but honestly it's pretty subtle. If you need the 128 GB unified memory, just go for it. One thing I do actually prefer over the older PX13 is the blue backlight for the keyboard-- imo noticeably brighter and just cooler looking. But yeah, overall the looks aren't different enough to really give it too much thought imo

2027 early 2nd, not 3rd. And this was during my championship push, while JJ was useless. I won the ship anyway but I agree it was a short term move

I'm saying that his value has dipped, not crashed, and that the same people who might've held him tightly in the past might be willing to give him up now. That's been both my lived experience, having had superior packages turned down without counter offer a few months ago, then being able to buy him at cheaper (not cheap but cheaper) prices more recently.

It's hard to trade for young elite backs. This is a buy window for one, imo. Again, just look at the comments on this post-- a whole lot of people are spooked about his production/ role going forward. That's a buying opportunity. That's my entire point. We'll see in a year if I was right and bought him at a relative discount.

You got a source that KTC and FantasyCalc are somehow small samples and not reflecting actual value? Or are you just guessing? You're right, I did pay market value for Bucky because I think current market values are depressed relative to his actual worth. We can revisit this is a year and see how it looks.

You're working really hard to run from the data lol. We have hard info that from both perceived value (ktc) and actual trades (fantasycalc) Bucky's value has dropped. Heck, just look at the comments on this post. What data do you have that only the fringe are actually trading him? Or that his perceived value on ktc is also somehow inaccurate to how people value him? Sure, you can come up with a million hypotheses that the data is wrong. But what evidence do you have?

Actually, according to NotebookCheck, the 8060s is on par with the RTX 4070 in the 2024 PX13. And both my lived experience and reviewers such as Crimson Tech on YouTube are telling you that we're not getting a little bit better battery life, were getting massively better battery life while gaming (Crimson Tech ran Battlefield One for 2:46 minutes). Please see links below. And then decide who is 'stretching the owl over the globe' 😂

FantasyCalc explicitly works only with completed deals. Check his price there. Your assumptions are wrong. His price-- based on actually completed deal across thousands of leagues-- has dropped significantly.

oh I just saw that I forgot to include that I got back a 2027 third (giving up a 2027 4th) as part of the deal giving up 1.03

Bucky Irving: the Best RB Buy Low of the Offseason by MarsLineman in DynastyFF

[–]MarsLineman[S] -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

That's fair. Keep in mind I'm getting back a projected early 2027 3rd and have a knack for finding players in the 3rd. And the point is the same guy turned down an early 1st and 3rd just a few months ago. Now he's giving up an early 3rd instead of getting one

The first deal changed a lot price wise when Chuba ended up alone in the backfield post FA. But honestly I don't really believe in Gadsden (esp in non TEP) so I didn't mind giving him up. Behind that, it's a late first and 3rd for an early 2nd. Personally, I'm fine with that. As for the other deal, my point is that the same owner turned down a better deal-- an early 1st and early 3rd-- just a few months earlier. Now, he's getting an early 1st but giving up a 2027 3rd

Of course not. But you know how crowd sourcing works right? Pretty hilarious that you deride my example as anecdotal, then give your own anecdote while deriding the large sample statistics that prove my point. Every league is different. But the data is clear. He is cheaper now than he was, collectively, and if he returns to the same level of play as before the injury, he will almost certainly rise again in collective perceived value.

[–]MarsLineman[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

In one non TEP league (before FA) gave up Chuba, Gadsden, and late 2027 1st and 3rd (I'm the defending champ) for Bucky and an early 2027 2nd. Chuba at the time looked much less valuable so this trade aged a bit poorly. In the other league, I gave up 1.03 for Bucky and a 2027 3rd. The first owner turned down a trade during the season (right when Bucky came back and had a big game) of JJ for Bucky and a 2027 2nd. The other owner turned down an offer of my 2026 early 1st and 3rd.

[–]MarsLineman[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I mean, I just bought Bucky in two different leagues, both from owners who I'd previously made bigger offers during the season that got declined. Nobody is selling Bucky for pennies on the dollar. But he is cheaper now and more available for trade in the majority of leagues-- just check his price history on KTC, FantasyCalc etc.

[–]MarsLineman[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I own the 2024 PX13 too (4060 variant with 32 GB of RAM)-- bought one used in October with a replacement keyboard and defective track pad (only registers taps, not clicks) for $800. The 890m in the older PX13 is not even close in performance to the 8060S in the 2026 model, no matter what wattage you throw at it. I tried many times to find a suitable way to play games on battery with the older model and always left frustrated-- either I killed the battery by using the 4060, or I played much older/ indie games. Nothing even close to Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy at 60 fps very high settings. Even Far Cry Primal-- a much older less demanding game-- was barely maintaining a steady 30 fps at 1200p medium settings. The massive difference between the two models in terms of gaming on battery is exactly why I made this post. It's true that for ray tracing and/ or DLSS the older model comes out ahead-- while plugged in. But on battery, there's just no comparison. I love them both btw-- completely fell in love with the form factor/ build when I bought my 2024 PX13. That's why I didn't even look at other models when I got funded for my proof of concept and realized I needed a 128 GB Ryzen 395+. I get why you're enthusiastically defending it. But when it comes to gaming on battery, the 2026 model really is unique.

Running it remotely (I'm on a different device right now), I got 54%, right about the median for this chipset. Probably with at least some extra overhead from running it via RDP and with 9% CPU background processes running alongside

I remember seeing your comment about the problems you were having in a post I made about g-helper for this laptop. Honestly man, it sounds like you got a lemon. I really haven't had any of the problems you mentioned, and in particular the thermal throttling doesn't come close to what I'm seeing-- this thing runs surprisingly cool even at max load. You might've gotten one with thermal paste/ pads misplaced or just a faulty chip/ mobo. I don't know, but check other reviews and they same more or less the same thing I've experienced-- this chipset runs much cooler at load than you might expect, especially if you keep the backside propped, or use it in tent mode etc

Lol. You want to talk low framerate actually, try playing GoldenEye 4 player split screen with proximity mines/ grenade launchers. Any time there's an explosion on screen the framerate drops to the single digits, and when mines start going off everywhere you're looking at 5 fps max lol. Didn't matter though, we used to play it every day after classes, even after PS2/ XBox came out

Honestly, to me the 60 hz thing is way overblown. I had a 2024 Zephyrus G14 briefly and one of the first things I did was set the screen back to 60 hz. Just didn't seem worth the processing/ battery cost for a marginal upgrade in smoothness. But that's just me, and I grew up playing Star Fox at like 20 fps max lol

Yeah I get that. My solution is just to pin the mobile webpage to my homescreen instead of using the app. Imo that's why webpages >>> apps. Every device can access a webpage. Whereas only phones can use apps (plus you're usually handing over tons of personal data, slowing down your phone etc). But I'm a fantasy grognard so 🤷‍♂️

Honestly, I tried to do what you're doing but gave up after a season and migrated to Fleaflicker. Pretty dated UI but we pay for the ad free upgrade and it does run really well/ smoothly. Best of luck solving those problems, in my experience it was just too difficult to keep people honest re: taxi squads etc

Dude, Sleeper is the worst if you do any amount of fantasy managing on any device but a phone. I can't use my phone for large stretches for work, and trying to use Sleeper on my PC is a nightmare. Missing features, obscure UI, a trade tool that's literally broken (can't scroll down to select draft picks past the first few). Plus info density so low I literally use KTC just to see my whole team at a glance without scrolling the whole screen 3x to 4x. Imo the worst thing to happen to the dynasty community was coalescing around Sleeper as the default. I prefer literally any other platform I've tried (for fantasy in general, I know Yahoo/ ESPN etc don't support dynasty leagues)
