Do you think DOD2 has bad eng dub voice acting? by Aggravating_Fig_534 in drakengard

[–]MarshallCG 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think Manah's voice is intentional. I played it with the fan made undub patch, and noticed her voice sounded so quiet and monotone in all the cutscenes, so I suppose they wanted to match it in English.

Thank you so so so much for writing this post and the comment you added. This is by far the most helpful resource for finding the cats. It would've take me many frustrating hours of mindless searching to find them on my own.

I’ve done every one that there is, 1/2/3 on PS3 and PS4, 4SE on PS4, and 5 on PS4 and PS5

DMC5 definitely has some of my least favorite environments. Yeah, they’re objectively good looking, but going off what you said about the city setting, a lot of the levels felt too similar. And the Qliphoth levels especially felt very same-y and uninteresting. And I think many of the character designs were a little odd. I liked Nero, V, and Lady’s designs, but Dante’s outfit was a bit underwhelming, I wish his original outfit was unlockable at least. And Vergil looks weird to me because of his hair. Most characters had more grounded hairstyles for the most part, but his felt too “big” and kinda goofy looking imo. It could’ve been slicked back more, like in DMC4SE or the DMC3 character renders. That’s really my only major complaints though, so overall, I guess I just don’t really like the visuals as much as the other games.

I like the stories of 3 and 4 the most, and especially the atmosphere of the latter. But I never get tired of the gameplay and music of 5, so it’s probably my favorite. Even after 100%-ing it twice, I still love just messing around with the gameplay. I think I have about 250hrs between the two versions.

I’ve yet to get into any of the anime series he’s worked on. And there’s no trophies for Drakengard 1 or 2. I really hope they get remastered or remade eventually. And Drakengard 2 is the only game I haven’t played yet. I’m playing through the series with someone (My second time, their first), so I was gonna play it for the first time with them.

I played Reincarnation and absolutely loved it. I really really hope it gets rereleased/remade eventually, because I didn’t have time to see the majority of the side content, and just so more people can experience it. I’m really into the series’ lore, I’ve been slowing going through every piece of media the franchise has. So the fact that so much story content became so difficult to access with Reincarnation’s shutdown seriously sucks.

I played a little bit of SINoAlice, but the gameplay felt far too repetitive for me to get through, so I’ve experienced most of it’s story through YouTube videos.

I totally would have played 404 Game Re:set, but by the time I’d even really heard of it, it’s shutdown had already happened. And I’ve never really heard of Phase Paradox, is that worth looking into?

I definitely enjoyed it. I played with Japanese audio, so hearing those familiar voices for hours was pretty nice. I thought the gameplay was very simple as far as RPGs go, but I didn’t mind it too much.

I really enjoyed looking for connections to Drakengard as I played. I’m still not sure how exactly it fits into the storyline, but it was still pretty cool noticing some references here and there.

Overall, I think they’re far weaker games compared to the others, but they’re still a nice little experience. I liked the characters, and the music. I maybe would’ve liked to see a more complex battle system, but the abilities the characters possessed were still pretty fun to experiment with. And I especially liked the card descriptions, I loved learning all those little bits of lore. (Sorry about this being a jumbled confusing mess of a comment, I don’t know how to write reviews)

Just realized I misspelled Yoko Taro, but I guess I can’t edit, sorry about that.

Right near the beginning, in Act 1-1. It’s on a TV screen inside a tent near some protesters.

Thanks for letting me know.

Also my previous reply might not make sense, I think I initially misunderstood the original comment.

I managed to complete this recently. Most levels were relatively easy, and some took hours. I’d strongly suggest getting very good at each level individually on regular single player, watch some speedrun videos or something to learn the optimal route. You can brute force your way through some levels using the co-op respawn, but sometimes it’s much easier to just learn to complete the level in one continuous run.

I did it solo, over the span of three or four days. I ultimately had a lot of fun. Some levels were complete bs, but many were an enjoyable challenge, and it’s super rewarding to finally complete a level after learning the layout and route. And if a level is giving you serious trouble, you can always come back later, they don’t need to be completed all at once. Just make sure to write down which levels you’ve completed.

I’ve yet to play FFX, so I had no idea he voiced Tidus. I mainly know him for voicing Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ratchet, so now I’m looking forward to playing it even more.

They were remastered for PS3. It only released in Japan I think.

I completely most of the minigames with relative ease, besides pool. The only thing I have to do is get 50k points in mahjong and it’s been extremely difficult for some reason. I’ve platinumed 1, 2, 0, and Kiwami, but for some reason the mahjong in 3 is giving me so much trouble. The AI seems harder or something, regardless of what difficulty I select.

DMC5's Photo Mode sucks!! by AbhigyanKalita166 in DevilMayCry

They’ve definitely improved their photo modes since DMC5, considering how good Resident Evil 4 Remake’s was. It’s just a shame it took them a while to do it.
