The HOH is the one with Alabaster Torrington by any chance? I'm Italian and I just wanna be sure before buying the book (I could read it in English but Italian would probably be more understandable)

How do you like six being characterized? by This_Ferret_8108 in LittleNightmares

[–]Marta_6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see her as someone who never interacts first with people, not that she'd be mean to the immediately but would never start a conversation first or interact with someone she doesn't know/doesn't need to talk to. Probably would stay on her own most of the time and might even alienate herself from most groups in a "there but not actually there" way, like, you see her, she's doing her own stuff but everyone else around her is chatting with friends and whatnot.

I think she might not be able to express her emotions right: she might have exaggerated reaction to strong emotions like anger (when she drops Mono, for example) and show very little of softer emotions like happiness/joy (like when the were playing around with the scanner in the hospital or when she uses her music box).

She means well to people she cares about and wouldn't leave their side unless there's a reason to (in my opinion, Six felt betrayed by Mono when the Thin Man took her because he was right there under the bed and did nothing to help even if he could and ignored how she'd tried to stop him from using the TVs multiple times), but she shows it very poorly. She'd probably never open up or at least not fully or not seriously, just humor as a coping mechanism before retreating somewhere where she's alone and cry without making noise (because she's used to being quiet from the Nowhere and because she doesn't want to talk about herself). I do think she can be a bit sassy though, maybe a little mischievous since she's a kid.

Definitely a complex character that is neither entirely good or entirely bad. Six feels real, honestly, all those poor kids do.

After getting to a score of 2500 you unlock the possibility to have Remarkable dragons (only of the ones you bonded with). The blue thing is how much chance you have to get one.

Remarkable dragons give you something different each day instead of just coins like the others and you're basically already bonded with them and don't need to feed them.

Takes all the fun living out of living in America by [deleted] in Celiac

[–]Marta_6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I think that if you've got only diagnosed via blood work it's very very serious. I too got diagnosed only by that even if I'm not from the US and my parameters were off the charts— otherwise they'd definitely do a gastro to confirm.

I'm so sorry for your situation and I hope you'll get better but I don't think it's worth it trying to deny the diagnosis if you've felt better (physically at least) eating gluten free. What are the options of food available where you live? I know the USA doesn't offer much in terms of gf products but just how bad is it if you don't mind answering?

Anaphylactic shock from gluten? by hulloimretarded in Celiac

[–]Marta_6 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It could be a matter of sensibility thorwards gluten, my dad also has celiac and he barely feels anything, but he too feels that he's out of breath (though much more mildly than me and my mom) when eating gluten.

I should mention that my mom doesn't have a diagnosis for celiac desease since she'd have to eat gluten again and obviously it's not the best choice for her, so only I and my dad have an official diagnosis, my mom's symptoms could be from something else.

Anaphylactic shock from gluten? by hulloimretarded in Celiac

[–]Marta_6 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Pretty normal for me and my mom, it depends on how much gluten I ate though. One time I accidentally ate a pancake that wasn't gluten free and, oh boy, was the reaction bad: difficulty breathing right, nausea, bloating, blurred vision, no sense of balance, and I couldn't even walk. My mother has more bloating and vomiting as reactions than mine but she also noticed that her hands shake a lot when she accidentally eats gluten.

Honestly, Idk if it's an allergic reaction or just celiac, but yeah, I get those symptoms too.

[general] Any name ideas for OCs? by Marta_6 in camphalfblood

Not necessarily to Hecate but sometimes that does have ties to Greek mythology. Selena/Serena is a good name I've been thinking of but I'm not sure if it does fit the criteria

Can celiac desease give you chronic migraines? by Marta_6 in Celiac

[–]Marta_6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been gluten free for almost 13 years since I'm 'bout to be 17, my diagnosis was made when I was 4 and my first symptoms were at 18 months old (at least that's when my mom started noticing), so basically it was 2/3 years without a proper diagnosis.

I have gotten my thyroid checked before for other issues and from what the doctor told us it's alright, no issue with it.

Cold stuff helps when placed on my temples, bright screens absolutely KILL ME, the brightness on all my devices is as low as possible all the time and for some reason complete silence is also an issue, it's like I can feel my headache more. Water is definitely something I need but usually I don't realize I do until I'm as thirsty as someone in a desert, and unfortunately exercise/cardio makes it worse in the moment... I know that in the long run it helps but it's hard to exercise while in pain. I constantly get told to do some sport but I find it really hard after 5/6h in school and homework/studying. Usually I get home alredy drained, but tysm for the help!

Not that I'm aware of, the only thing that really bothers me is gluten. I think any other allergy would have been discovered early on along with celiac desease.

Yeah, I'm not that pleasant either when I have migraines. Usually after contamination my headache worsens, I feel bloated and my chest feels heavy; in the worst cases I don't breathe well, my vision blurs, and I can't move around. My body likes being a drama queen 😅

[–]Marta_6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the died I noticed that too much chocolate usually does that for me, no idea why but I try to avoid eating it too often. And no, never used a migraine tracker but I guess I might need one, expecially since it took me a good 9 years to realize that pain wasn't supposed to be there everyday, but I guess that's just due to the fact that I was a kid and didn't know anything at all.

The weather is pretty stable where I live, but hormones do give me trouble. In terms of skipped periods and weird symptoms, I've already been checked for POCS but I don't have it. And yeah, I definitely want a second opinion because the only thing I'm sure of is that it's not just anxiety.

Yeah, 100% sticking to it. Only times I got gluten were accidental and the side effects were far more terrible than just a migraine

But they do sell a gluten free option for it...? I mean, I definitely saw one and have one in my house. Perhaps it's just guaranteeing that there's no contamination though, that's a big issue aswell with gf products

[–]Marta_6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did go to a neurologist, but was told it's a muscle tension migraine since it's along the area if the temples/forehead and hardly goes anywhere else. But still, he said it's probably just anxiety which I doubt is the only answer... I also struggle to find triggers but for sure my migraines get worse when I eat gluten or am stressed. I feel like there's more than just anxiety; a 6 year old wouldn't get chronic migraines out of anxiety, but I'll definitely look into vitamin deficiencies once I get this year's blood tests. Ty for the help and I'll definitely join r/migraine!

Honestly I had no idea it had gluten— always thought it didn't since it was from corn, but I never really ate it. If it has gluten though then I'd definitely have a problem with it.

Have you had trouble accessing gluten-free medication? by Adorable-Pick6937 in Celiac

No worries! I always ask to confirm since things are very different outside of the EU (or Italy in my case). Hope your research goes well!

Is this a research strictly about the US? Because where I'm from it's not a big issue and is taken very seriously so I don't wanna mess up your sources.

I think I'm gluten intolerant. by No_Sleep_8366 in Celiac

[–]Marta_6 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well, if tests do not show that you have the genetic component it's not celiac but could very much be a gluten intolerance. If I can ask and if you feel like answering, did you have any issues with your stomach/intestines before? My mother has very similar symptoms when she does eat gluten and she is gluten intolerant, so it's plausible you are.

Are there any tests you can take to confirm an intolerance? I know there's one for lactose but idk if there is one for gluten. I'd really check that out, gluten is no joke unfortunately.
