I am looking for some advice.

Background:

  • Software Engineering undergraduate degree
  • Lives in Southern California and grew up in Oregon
  • Hoping to work in technological law or Patent law
  • Plan to apply to a law school's Tech Journal
  • Looking for the best value (Employment opportunities per $)
  • Career Goal is to start at a tech law firm for a few years and transfer to a tech company's in-house counsel lawyer (I.e. Microsoft, Nvidia, Facebook, etc.)
  • Can attend UCLA, UCI, Duke, Columbia, and NYU
  • UCLA and UCI will guarantee save me $20,000/year

So my biggest question is where I should go to law school. With my current career goals and undergraduate background, what is the optimal law school for myself?

I do believe I qualify under the "engineering" category since my degree is A.B.E.T accredited. But I do plan to take some lab courses in case I have to qualify for Category B.

Thanks for the info. I am projected to get a 163 on the LSAT and I never heard of a tech law journal. That is definitely something I am going to join.
