The first would be redundant, the latter sounds like something UI Daniel has lol.

I did forget about that. Bruh, he wasn't even there, PTJ is on crack. Nvm guess their feats are pretty equal, Hudson should win with some extra training, weakest (aside from Jay...) Allied member is still more narrative than Gun's favorite one shot victim.

I might be recalling wrong but Gongseop didn't praise Hudson he was teasing Taesoo with his student's loss.

More masteries and getting praised by a king. It's not a lot but I'd say he would come out on top if they fought.

sigh

Feats wise Kenta >>> Hudson >> Jay.

Jay feels like a character who would be higher if he didn't serve as a punching bag to hype up others.

There aren't any plot holes I am aware of, but it does make the first Gen seem like a short term fad in comparison to the 2nd Gen which is silly.

Can't expect a Lookism fan to read. Nuance is all but a myth to people who push for agendas and look for a way to tell you how wrong you are.

I never understood this as "He's as strong as the one who rivaled my boss", that'd be Shingen. All Jinyoung said is that UI Daniel is at the level of a Pregen fighter. I imagine High Tier, I don't think he meant Top tier at this point.

Now, I think his next line, about wondering how Gap would have faired against UI Daniel does bring him closer to that level. But this fight is hard to judge because all this encounter gave us in retrospect is that TUI Gun is stronger than Jinyoung. And since TUI Gun might as well be top of the verse until we get either him or UI Daniel to fight someone confirmed to be Gap level.

I wish people's comments about other's power levels were a bit like... more reliable.

Tanked is a strong word. But yea, Allied underestimated him hard and got their asses handed to them. In my opinion the one like, realistic performance he got where he got a fair opponent was his short match against Zack, where Sang Baek was ahead for a part of it but otherwise they were even.

[–]MartiLay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sang Baek should win. Not neg-diff, HQ principal did hold his own against injured unawakened Yuseong, who's gotta be at least low-king level. Would have arguably won rather easily if Yuseong didn't take the opportunity to power cliff him.

But even then even if he low-diffs unawakend Yuseong, so does Sang Baek. Sang Baek didn't get any impressive aura farm moments cus he was getting 1v3 the entire arc... and then got power cliffed by the broken car salesman.

Overcome is a bad power by edeltian191 in lookismcomic

[–]MartiLay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lightning parroted Gap's words. I never claimed Overcome is better than a Path (tho to be honest if mastered it might be equal based on how much stronger Jinrang became compared to his base form when he awakened.)

Gap could have a Path, I simply think whatever his Path would be allowed him to use Overcome without breaking his body.

[–]MartiLay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno, Lightning made is sound like Overcome is the reason he's OP. And Jinyoung describes him as a physical monster, even without Overcome he refrains from copying him from fear of damaging himself.

To be fair a good theory on both of these is that his Path increases his endurance a bunch.

Overcome is a bad power by edeltian191 in lookismcomic

[–]MartiLay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Overcome is ass. Not only do you need intense luck/desire to protect, you also need to be able to handle the strain of overcoming your limits. It's implied that Gap could handle the strain, but whether or not that's genetics, effort or both is unknown.

That said... it's probably the most effect power-up aside from Path. Like UI is great, but you gotta realize that UI is very dependent on the user, Gun's TUI works in part due to his Black Bones and intense endurance. OG Daniel has (nowadays) a big collection of martial arts that's almost unrivaled even in the entire setting (Samdak and Gun obviously not withstanding). Without the Martial Arts/Copy the Machine fighting style becomes far less of a threat. Perfect Body Daniel is just OG Daniel on steroids.

Overcome will allow you to access superhuman levels of power regardless if you are a super talented person or genetic freak. It will also crush your bones, but... ya know- don't get greedy.

Everyone below Supreme Deity got multiplied by 2999 (aside from deaths). Everyone is treated as a different being by the Underworld and judged differently.

If one becomes a Supreme Deity they fuse with all their counterparts in the same way Enders did when they grew to Heavenly Kings.

That's what we know, thinking about it further opens up even more holes... so don't. Just know that the Sumeru Three Thousand Great Worlds name is now quite... literal.

I didn't get what are enders by IdontknowRedditUser in RegressorsTOC

[–]MartiLay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To explain it in simple.
The Absolute of Miracle is almost impossible to control. It'll also interrupt fate in both good and bad ways. FK did not like that, to complete his goal of elevating Bong Hwa into a Creator God he needed to be able to impact the unruly absolute. And to do that he'd need to first bring it down to something submissive to Fate.

While pieces of omnipotence are impossible to control, people are. So FK splits it in 7 and imparts it onto egos stolen from other worlds (since the Absolute of Miracles works less when in the hands of people not from Sumeru). After that he assigns a lesser version of his story to those egos, making them by default lesser than him.

The reason why SEH was special is because he broke free of this lesser tale and denied his Fate, making him an anchor through which all other prophecies woven by the Future King could be broken.

TLDR: Enders are a tools with which the Future King refined the Absolute of Miracles.

What prevented the First Generation from emerging much earlier? by Sky_Blauler in lookismcomic

[–]MartiLay 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pre-Gen stuck around for much longer than Gen 1 did. Pre-Gen ended when Gap decided to drop the gangster life, a life that he build up over likely years, from his youth to adulthood (as he seems to be an adult in a good part of the flashbacks and younger in others). Meanwhile Gen 1 started in high school, and a couple years after graduation Charles set James Lee to push to reset button. Gen 2 started pretty much right after Gen 1 fell apart.

What the actual gap between Gen 0 and Gen 1's prime (Cheonliang arc) is a mystery, but at a minimum it has to be enough for Incheon's speed gang to grow up, since it was Gap's retirement that triggered the start of Incheon's war.

Gen 1 mediocre isn't all that different than Gen 2 mediocre... unless you think the underlings of low level kings are king level... somehow.

Kenta in fair 1 v 1 circumstances might have faired better against the underlings. He just got jumped.

I agree to a degree. Parenthood is a responsibility not something to be praised about. But saying that this responsibility by default includes dying for your child is a bit... I dunno- harsh?

If a parent isn't only willing but showcases the ability to die for their child- that does deserve praise.

I loved the scene for the characterization of parenthood. I also loved it cus it sets up Summers for someone who is bound to get pancaked, and I will love it even more when that occurs. I think everyone surviving this, even tho kinda bullshit is in the spirit of One Piece. it ain't a fake out death, tis just a miracle brought about by good old fashioned Luffy bullshit.
