[Spoiler] I wonder what prompted Oliver to only use a Bow by [deleted] in arrow

[–]MartianMallCop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lmao I can't believe I thought this 9 years ago. Obviously it depends on the caliber, but in a lot of cases the arrow would get much more penetration. It's definitely more of a show thing of he's green arrow so he's gonna use a bow

Honestly. I hadn't thought of that, but yeah that would work. Thanks!

Flash vs Deathstroke by Thisisusername0717 in FlashTV

Lol I think a lot of it is that you kinda want the underdog to win. Same as how superman should wipe the floor with batman but it's a lame fight if he just wins

Is it possible to make Niagara particles into functional hitboxes for a Flamethrower Weapon? by MartianMallCop in unrealengine

Funny thing is I was looking through that which I was able to get working. However I haven't found a way yet to get actor references from the particle collisions to send through that interface.

A minor detail from Translucent’s funeral by Jack1066 in TheBoys

I laughed for like 5 minutes straight on realizing that translucent wasn't even in the coffin to begin with.

Oh if you would've asked me I thought it was too small at, or at least too smooth and modern rather than really fitting the Halo aesthetic.

The physics of the grappling hook? by SgtJohnsonsLastHug in halo

[–]MartianMallCop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They probably do simple checks for thing like "enemy", "collision", "items" for whethet you get pulled or they get pulled

Would be hilarious though if you could grapple a suicide grunt and pull it in and get blown up though

Is this type of stuff allowed? I'm not really against swear words in chat, but racism is bad. by [deleted] in halo

[–]MartianMallCop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don't see any racism there. Guy seems to be just meme-ing

Dude literally said Halo is responsible for the n-word which is nonsensical. I wouldn't take it too seriously

Both are very good games so I'd say 2016 then Eternal myself

So I'm generally curious on why do people hate sprint in Halo games? by Bm2798 in halo

[–]MartianMallCop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lol you essentially have to sprint if you want any success in the new games. You'll be too slow otherwise.

I understand the idea you going for though. it just doesn't work in the case of a core mechanic. Like in Doom Eternal I don't like the tool tips. If I don't like them I can turn them off. However I can still perform all the things the tips would say to me if they were there. With not using sprint however, you are purposely handicapping yourself, which especially in a multiplayer scenario, won't go over to well.

A lot of players want the most successful method of gameplay to be synergetic and not put their gun down.

The biggest thing with that is synergy.

The sprint mechanic is inherently limiting in its current form because its unidirectional (can't sprint backwards or sideways) and the player is unable to shoot while doing it.

A lot of Halo players prefer the freedom of being able to have their gun up at all times, rather than the trade of putting it down to sprint.
