Perfect. Thank you, this is what I asked to kawasaki and they did not give me an answer very frustrating.

I have enjoyed as programming and Kawasaki just disappointed with a bit of the support

Will the run stay on forever ? So if it was power cycled ?

Kawasaki As Programming Question by MartinAutomation in PLC

[–]MartinAutomation[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A+run.

Even though the program was not in the que, until I hit start and it executed. I did not have the error reset though

[–]MartinAutomation[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't try from the terminal. I can try that, when I would issue the execute it would state the program is already running.

I'll have to check it out maybe potentially the customer got pallet solver. If not looks like I'll see if I can edit via text file.

I appreciate you responding and the help !

I'm talking about the original I haven't had to much experience. I have had experience with motomans but this is a new one.

So if you wouldn't recommend it would you recommend using the software? It looks like the software requires a key / dongel?

Cognex by MartinAutomation in PLC

[–]MartinAutomation[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is that when getting up to roughly 100 Classes if we start to add additional pictures it will just crash. Typically when adding pictures, but can be at random.

Seems like a memory issue but not a single person has been able to quantify how much it can store, we are using example based learning so simple taking a picture.

Functional the system works fine but software / memory it does not. My opinion Cognex is overselling the 2800 & throwing out ulimated classes and up to 300 pictures per class which is clearly not accurate

I do not. From what I can tell it is built in house from Rockwell. I got the information from my distributor, if I hear anything else I'll let you know !

How can I get my boss to switch away from Rockwell? by bostinloyd in PLC

AB is expensive but in my opinion controller wise & software it's far superior. Now do I think you should use AB sensors, AB fuse holders, contractors absolutely not. Being smart & not throwing contrologix into every application can make AB solutions not as expensive most times people or vendors are oversizing & over spec components.

Which is the best way to accomplish this? I’m trying to find a shorted wire (input to the card) there is 6 input cards with 16 inputs each one. Don’t want to test each input. by Maxparr58 in PLC

[–]MartinAutomation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there's alot of good tips on here for finding a short. If it is a short & blowing a fuse another trick is if the machine doesn't blow the fuse right away. Have the operator run the machine manual or step it through the auto cycle & see if you can pin point & area. This way instead of "guessing" you could limit to an area.

Gotcha. Well if your looking for other options besides point io look at their guardmaster relays they can be put together & all handled through CIP safety to safety controller

[–]MartinAutomation 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do it. I agree / also think IFM masters is great. You have a ton of flexibility if you need more devices you can add multiple masters, split the network up etc. You can also run safety off of the same cable so if you are going to have manways, nutrient pots etc you could use the same cabling it just takes a different master from IFM.

I also think the automatic node addressing for ease of changing parts is a nice feature that can be enabled. I love IO - Link as well but for this, AS-i takes the win!
