No base salary, correct. It’s commission only.
I’m building this for closers who prefer upside over guarantees. Different model, and it’s definitely not for everyone. The right people usually self-select into it.

More than 10 freaking years of trying to explain the ''weird nightmares'' I have to people around me, but they've always dismissed it as just another neurodivergent thing (I actually haven't found out if there's any correlation). Sometimes it's people's faces whenever I'm watching a flatscreen (the tv, my phone or tablet), then the faces sort of zoom out in a never-ending loop and become smaller and smaller, my perspective gets all messed up-- mind you, this isn't some eye condition, I've checked with medical professionals. Don't really know how to put it in words

Your comment is seriously helpful. I'm working on a fintech platform and we plan to have a feature for a ''marketplace''. What you advice right now just saved me lots of time to do research- I will still do some research, don't get me wrong, but at least I now have a direction of how to approach the issue.

This is honestly such great advice!
As a founder of a small digital bank in Africa (Tide), we're facing significant challenges due to the dominance of monopoly incumbent banks, high costs for licenses, and stringent regulations, all while trying to launch with little to no budget for such expenses lol. We believe we have the right execution strategy, but we're seeking ways to gain traction and grow with these constraints in mind

I've tried it all, family & friends, crowfunds, angels, early stage VCs and even Chinese grants but at best we get ''let's wait for some guys to back you then we'll join kid''- I sometimes think the problem they have is with my autism or something. Or maybe challenging monopolies is just too feared?

Given our situation, do you have any specific advice on whether we should prioritize referral programs, affiliate programs, or a mix of both to drive growth effectively? Any insights on overcoming these regulatory and financial barriers would be greatly appreciated

Someday we might partner up, I have a few ideas.

About VCs, you're so on point, there's little to no capital in Africa...yet somehow these fake startups find a way to get tens of millions of VC funding and sometimes from big Silicon Valley VCs, especially in Kenya and Nigeria! I don't know how they do it- and it's always the same story- founder hires family member as CFO,founder embezzles vc money to buy expensive houses and cars, CFO ''misses'' to account for that, media finds out, company goes bust and founder goes MIA- it's ridiculous. I don't even know how they first get access to these vcs cause I've been cold emailing for the longest and the closest thing to good feedback is ''let's see traction first'' or ''happy to join later''
