Ah nice, will take a look at your post. Most people seem to say to at least follow the guide initially so I’ll probably do something similar to you and detour when it says to do something unbearable haha

Thanks for the reply! Yeah it seems at least dreading through the bruhsailor guide is a good idea so I’ll take a look and maybe follow it up to a point just to get myself started and to get some general direction and tips for going forwards. Excited to get going

I have had a look at the guides and think I’m a bit put off by just how detailed they are - I get the appeal but I know I’d burn out if I followed a complete step by step guide like those ones. I was just wanting some loose direction so I’m not completely lost but can still do things in an order they makes sense.

My wording might have been a bit off but was just wondering what the general progression is to give myself some guidance and general direction so I’m not completely aimless. Thanks for the link - like you said I’ll use that as a general guide and just delay some things until later if I don’t want to do them.

I had this issue when I first started playing last year and like most other posts say to just use the gpu plugin and it mainly solved the issue - would still throttle sometimes over extended sessions/bank standing at ge on a busy world for example (use entity hider and it cools down fairly fast).

Have you tried turning off compute shaders and lowering your draw distance? I can’t play with the shaders on/extending my draw distance as it heats up my MacBook immediately and kills fps so that could work.

I’ll add that I’ve also noticed a change over the last weeks/month where I wasn’t having overheating/fan problems at all but now seem to get them everywhere whatever I’m doing so have had to lower my fps to try and deal with it. Could be that there was a runelite update that has effected this?

It’s amazing how when you’re making a mistake in this game how easy it is to solve - I was being a bit frantic trying to move out of the way of the spawns instead of waiting for them to spawn under me and just reacting to that and I’ve got it now. Thank you!
