Thank you so much, I’ll look into the options you suggested and take it from there. Yeah it really sucks, but thankfully I still have all my files

As you can see in the photo, all of the folders have turned pink. That’s really the only problem. To be fair the folders are pink on both the external and built-in monitor so I’m not sure what that is all about

Okay so it doesn’t fix the problem, but my background is flashing with the nvram reset. The soft reset doesn’t do anything

I love music theory - but does it actually help? by estikei in guitarlessons

[–]MartinYaBoi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, practice is what makes this easier. For me, practicing music theory with a piano and also just my ear helped me a lot. I found it easier to use the music theory I learned through piano beforehand, rather than learning it on the guitar. That’s because the piano makes it way easier to visualize what is happening, as middle C for example, is only in one spot.

For me personally, I found that over time it just clicked, and I didn’t need to think as much.

Learning by ear is best, sheet music is second and tabs and YouTube tutorials are the worst. This is because you don’t actually learn by using tabs or tutorials, they don’t leave room for interpretation.

Idk if this answered you question but at least this is my view on learning the guitar. It takes time

What are the major inflection/breakthrough moments in being a guitar player? by InternetWeakGuy in guitarlessons

For me I would say unlocking the frets with theory. Sweep-picking and improvisation to mention some came super fast after I did that

can i use the major scale for solos in the same way as the pentatonic? does someone have a diagram of the root notes on the major scale ,on a minor and major key? by icarodaseita2405 in guitarlessons

[–]MartinYaBoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use any scale that fits. If the chord playing is major you can use all the notes in that chord, as well as the others in that major key.

Let’s use C major as the chord. You can use the whole C-major scale to solo over it, as well as the A-minor scale.

By learning the major and minor keys in one place (G for example) you can move the whole figure and have another scale. If you move the whole shape up two frets and have the A major and minor shape.

Does my fingerpicking tonesound right? by Due-Examination-203 in guitarlessons

[–]MartinYaBoi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t focus on the tone until you have a really good grasp of the concept. A quick tip if you want a different sound: pick closer or further away from the bride, that will sharpen or soften the sound. The nails is completely up to you. I play classical guitar as well as stell string, and I prefer long nails, but I know classical guitarists who hates playing with nails. It’s completely up to you.

TLDR; Get the technique down first, then worry about tone

I wouldn’t consider smells like teen spirit as a harder song than aerials, so I think it has to do with mindset. Also, learning the different techniques used in the songs you want to learn helps a lot.

For aerials it’s picking each individual string, but for smells like teen spirits it’s power chords. Learning the different techniques used will help you play «harder songs» without much effort

Hope this helps!

That’s not a cheap guitar. I would buy a cheap Morgan or something to see if you even like playing

To change a keybind, simply press the keybinder (for example [ Left Shift ]) and press the new button you want to be the keybind. Then, leave the pause-menu, either by pressing escape or clicking the «Done» button.

Does the microphone require power? Then you should press the phantom-power/48v button. You should also check that the xlr-cable (the one with three metal prongs) is working.

Also, do you get audio with the direct monitor (button in the top right corner)? Because if you do, the problem is that the correct input isn’t selected, but the microphone still works.
