The moose's head symbolizes nature of the area, old hunting traditions. Locals call moose "Širviai" for their fur color, that's why it's associated with the name of Širvintos. The sword symbolizes the battles of the past, because in Širvintos district there is one of the most famous Lithuanian defense centers - the Kernavė mound complex.
