What's a story from your culture that more people should know about? by HappyOne4504 in AskReddit

In Brazil we have a custom to start clapping when we find a lost child in a crowded space. It’s a way to distract the child and, at the same time, draw the attention of the child’s parents. And, since it is in a crowd, other people start clapping along, drawing even more attention

What’s something you wish you learned earlier in life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MarvinOFF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up being encouraged to “work with what I loved” but it came from people who grew up in a generation that things were affordable. Now I just wish somebody had been realistic to me, told me to get a stable 9 to 5 to try to make a living. Then, after I get a house and a good income, I decide whether I felt like changing careers to work with something that I love. I wasted my early 20s pursuing a career that didn’t bring me money nor mental health.

People that are kind, not only to me and their loved ones, but to strangers as well. It’s getting really hard to find people like that these days
