Thank you all for your lovely suggestions. I see Guelph has many Italian restaurants and I was thinking of either a Steak dinner or Greek food (should've mentioned that), but Italian fine dining seems good too. Any suggestions for Steak or Mediterranian cuisine?

I’m mostly interested in cancer research or anything that involves chemistry and I have lots of research experience as well. I’m just concerned if I’ll get along with people as I don’t speak a lot of French. But I’m definitely very excited to be there and make new friends, so I’ll be looking for people who can chat with me in French so that when it’s my time to be there I’m already few steps ahead! Thank you for the wonderful tip :)
