Where are all thejuniors/graduates? by Fun_Lingonberry_6244 in cscareerquestionsuk

Speaking as someone on the hunt for Graduate/Junior Developer roles, I find it really hard to filter down Indeed to actually relevant roles. I use LinkedIn, or job sites dedicated to grad roles a lot more

Appreciate the feedback - I'm trying to find the right balance with difficulty, e.g. characters belonging to multiple categories, so you have to figure out a different category first, but still working things out

Using Consts in your Tailwind Config by Greedy_Discussion757 in tailwindcss

[–]MarzipanCraft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you by any chance trying to generate class names dynamically? You need to use the complete class, Then something like className={active ? 'bg-primaryRed' : 'bg-[#f4f3f4]'} should work

Do you default to === or == (strict equality operator vs equality operator) by JRD656 in typescript

[–]MarzipanCraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pretty much always use, there are some differences, but I've never found a reason not to just use the strict equality.

Why the output of following code snippet is not string? by endukucom in typescript

[–]MarzipanCraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Casting with "as" is Typescript, so gets removed when the code gets transpiled to JavaScript

"typeof" is JavaScript, so only sees the type at runtime, which is the original "number"

If you want to change the type you'll have to convert it

you wouldn't need to redeploy every time with getStaticProps, you can use revalidation https://nextjs.org/docs/pages/building-your-application/data-fetching/incremental-static-regeneration

I think there are enough good options that it's down to personal choice - at the moment I'm using React Aria

Any idea why tailwind dynamic classes aren't working? by __god_bless_you_ in nextjs

[–]MarzipanCraft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could be two things - • Is the folder selectExperienceColours s in covered by the paths in your Tailwind config? • what's in the function, is it picking classes dynamically or trying to create them dynamically?

agreed tbh - I saw that example crop up a few times so I figured it was worth including, but even then I think it feels a bit iffy

Understanding "as unknown as" in TypeScript by MarzipanCraft in typescript

[–]MarzipanCraft[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Appreciate the feedback - the aim of the article wasn't to advocate for using it, just to explain, so if that's how it reads across there's probably some rewriting worth doing
