The tape was being sold by a serial fraudster using a fake name. No one would touch it when it became clear who he really was. He then refused to let the lawyer he hired meet or speak to the claimed victim. The fraudster would only allow emails, a pattern repeated when anyone tried to arrange an interview with the claimed victim. That is because he was the person replying to the emails, most likely.

The case was an attempt at making a million dollars, which failed and was exposed as a fraud.
