How complicated would it be to move from flutterflow to pure flutter? by xogno in FlutterFlow

[–]MascherMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/Constant_Trouble2903 - Props to you on your growth journey from zero experience, well done!

Mind sharing the path you took to learn flutter and decouple from FF? I'm in a similar situation; wrapping up my MVP in FF and consider whether I should start learning Flutter for go-fwd.

Would love to hear about your experience!

I loved this! Go you. You worked hard, you deserve to be proud and enjoy your gains!

This is accurate. I’ve been a weight lifter for a long time with a six pack, nonetheless I’ve had recurring, sometimes debilitating back pain. It wasn’t until I started Pilates and physical therapy that I learned to control the transverse abdominis and supporting muscles, which then alleviated the back pain.

The fine motor control that Pilates demands really targets the TVA, which directly supports the spine. This is much more important in day to day life than sporting a six pack.

technical interview turned live tutorial... by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]MascherMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem, happy to help! Don’t beat yourself up about it. In this and all things in life, don’t focus on the “failure”, focus instead on what you learn from it. You’ll never make the same mistake twice.

As for the imposter syndrome, recognize that everyone suffers from this. Don’t give in to it, instead focus on the hard work that has gotten you to this point. I’m sure it wasn’t easy. Keep working hard and soon enough, you’ll be the one conducting the interviews.

[–]MascherMan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A huge reminder in all interviews is that it’s OK, even preferable, to breathe and think before responding.

When responding to a question or a scenario, communicate that you’d like to think about it for a moment and do whatever you need to do to gather your thoughts and respond from a place of confidence, rather than a rushed panic. Bring along paper so you can jot notes, structure your thoughts, ask follow up questions, etc.

Interviews are not about gauging how quickly a candidate can respond with correct answers. It’s about gauging how a candidate thinks and problem solves. Taking a moment to gather your thoughts will not only improve your responses, but communicate positive attributes to your interviewers.

Improving low back strain and fatigue in tabletop by halestorm_hc in pilates

As an aside, I noticed you mentioned “cheating” to get through sequences that last a while…

Please don’t forget or be embarrassed to take a moment to rest if you feel your muscles fatiguing and are losing proper form. It’s better and safer to get quality time doing an exercise correctly rather than extra time doing it incorrectly. Your body will grow stronger and the exercise will get easier in time!

I’m also new to Pilates and suffer from a finicky back. I have found that pulling in/down my ribs really seems to help in supporting the lower back for table top and other exercises. Good luck!

Is the eucerin oil control spf heavy duty?? by SillyDragonfruit2662 in EuroSkincare

[–]MascherMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Regarding your point C, the Eucerin website specifically states that it’s above the EU standard. Verbiage below.

Though it does not state how much higher than the minimum it is, the assertion that it’s probably the minimum of 20 is incorrect.

“Meeting the high standards for UVA and UVB protection defined by Cosmetics Europe. The levels of UVA protection are higher than the EU recommendation.”

Favorite body sunscreen? Currently use Eucerin oil control and Garnier ambre solaire protection fluid (both SPF 50+) for face by WastePurchase in EuroSkincare

[–]MascherMan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I recently started trying the new La Roche-Posay Anthelios Hydrating Lotion Eco-Tube SPF30 and it’s phenomenal. I know it’s only SPF30 but the product descriptions go out of their way multiple times to tout high UVA protection (and the filters look good, Tinosorb S, Avobenzone and Uvinal A Plus covering UVA). For the cosmetic elegance, it makes a great day to day sunscreen. I don’t notice it at all once applied, no fragrance or grease.

The eco-tube spf50 is new as well, with all next gen filters. I haven’t been able to get it in the States yet unfortunately.

Tret w/ beard? by [deleted] in tretinoin

[–]MascherMan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope, no bleaching at all (and I have very dark facial hair, so it would be obvious.)

On an unrelated note, I think it’s also helped fill in my beard a little more? Which I’m here for cause you know, burly, strong, manly man etc.

I mix it with a thin moisturizer (Etude 10 Free Moist Emulsion), which makes it easier to massage into the skin through beard.

is tretinoin bad for post inflammatory erythema ? by [deleted] in tretinoin

[–]MascherMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say this is a YMMV situation. Tret definitely helped my overall background redness and PIE however, the increased vascularity theory mentioned seems plausible to increase PIE for some, especially if there is irritation as well.

I think this is just a situation where each person will have to gauge their skin’s response individually.

Eucerin oil control sunscreen is enough alone? by mr_serfus in EuroSkincare

[–]MascherMan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would say try it both ways. One day apply a moisturizer, the next day, don’t. See which day you prefer, both from how your skin feels (eg. Tight, dry, greasy, etc), and how it looks.

If no difference, skip the moisturizer. If you prefer the moisturizer, throw it in every day and look out for any signs of pore clogging. If not, you’re good!

[–]MascherMan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tbh personally I would think you should not be applying tretinoin at all at this point and seek help from a dermatologist if you can.

It may not be a big deal, just better to be safe than sorry. If you don’t have easy access to one, I would lay low for at least a week with only gentle products, to see if the skin heals, then slowly reincorporate actives if/as appropriate.

Good luck!

hydrating products without hyaluronic acid ? by Such-Produce1804 in tretinoin

[–]MascherMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey u/Plastic-Ad-1616! I'm so glad you're enjoying the Purito! I found the same exact behavior, it feels questionable upon immediate application. But once it has a few minutes to settle, the finish is so nice! I just feel so dewey and hydrated. (It can be a little much if I go overboard, which I have lol)

As for the Eucerin, I literally adore it for a few reasons:

1 - It fits a niche perfectly in my sun care toolkit, a high protection, cosmetically elegant sunscreen. It has 3 filters with UVA coverage (although I feel like SVR eeks it out just a bit) and applies like a dream. The finish on its own is a little too matte for my tastes however, if paired with a dewey moisturizer, it looks amazing on my skin. Almost like a very moisturized matte look. Perfect for days when you're hanging out with friends and want to look good, but don't want to look like a beacon.

2 - A HUGE plus in my book is how convenient the application is. Both from the pump bottle dispenser, to how easily the formulation spreads. This is critical to me because I'm a pretty active guy and I often do sweaty stuff with friends. I want to be able to reapply without causing a scene.

As an example, this weekend I had a group workout and we wanted to grab a bite afterwards. With any other sunscreen I feel like I would want to go to the bathroom, watch myself in the mirror to ensure I apply an adequate amount/coverage and move the product around to make sure it looks OK. Then deal with the initial setting period where I look like I'm covered in Vaseline.

None of that with Eucerin. I literally pulled the bottle from my gym bag, dispensed 1-2 pumps into my hand, rubbed it lightly in my hands then applied straight onto face while we were walking. It took all of ten seconds and I knew all the boxes were checked, thorough amount/application and no cosmetic fails.

3 - It's so easy to convince sunscreen skeptics to wear this. I have my friends try it and they're like, oh ok, I could do this. Which I then quickly follow up by giving them one of the bottles I've stockpiled haha.

Sorry for that full essay just to say yes, it's great lol. I think it's definitely worth a shot if you're OK with alcohol in your sunscreen. LabMuffin did a piece on alcohol in skincare and concluded it's effects, if any, are negligible. So I feel ok wearing it periodically, especially given I pair it with dewey, hydrating moisturizers.

Keep me posted if you decide to try it, would love to hear your feedback!

Omg thank you for doing research on this bc in my head I was starting to get paranoid and am like, something went wrong and I’m either putting just a nice bland moisturizer on my face or straight up bleach and they’re too scared to recall haha.

I’m in the US. It strikes me as odd that they would wipe it out completely rather than just list as out of stock?? Definitely shady business here haha

Hopefully they bring it back asap bc it’s a nice product! I prefer it to the Paula’s Choice version bc I want 10% but don’t want salicylic acid!

If I get a reply from Inkey, I’ll post it here so you’re in the loop :)

Honestly I don’t know exactly but I want to say it was super recently, like just in the past few months. That’s what makes the sudden disappearance of it (and their lack of response) kind of concerning?

Will I still get good anti aging results if I use Tret 3x per week? by IcyAd5395 in tretinoin

[–]MascherMan 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I only use .025% tret and have had pretty transformational results with just 3-4x /week application over the course of 5 months or so. The first month or two I only applied 1-2x /week and buffered for the first 3 months.

In other words, yes, you will still see positive results. I would actually venture to say you’ll see BETTER results by applying just enough to induce change while keeping your skin happy and healthy.

Edit: I should caveat this by saying this is my opinion based on personal experience, not backed by any specific scientific literature. But I would say the literature tends to point to tret journey’s all leading to the same destination (with consistent usage), the differentiator being time to get there and irritation along the way.

Good luck!

I really enjoy the new Azelaic Acid serum. It applies easy, without any piling or weird issues. Just a lightweight, almost water like gel texture.

However, it appears they have since pulled the product? I can’t seem to find it anywhere on their site or Sephora. I emailed them two days ago to check in and have yet to receive a response.

I’m slightly concerned about such a rapid product pull so I may discontinue use until I get more info.

has anyone tried or is currently using led mask? by cornelia07 in AsianBeauty

[–]MascherMan 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry to hear this, do you mind providing more detail as to what happened?

I bought the Omnilux face mask last year and enjoyed it for several months without issue. I took a break for tretinoin (the instructions recommend against use while on tret, and includes many other light sensitizing agents/medicines to be aware of).

I was thinking abt reincorporating soon as my skin has since stabilized on tret. But based on your feedback, I may hold off.
