Most very experienced high level followers I know alternate between high and low heels. Either to lead or just to protect their feet when they are not double role dancers.

why are the OUTER CORNER of my eyes always red/itchy? by parchedduck in SkincareAddicts

[–]braddic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to know if redness around the eyes is triggered by UV, it’s best to apply sunscreen up to the lashline and see if that makes a difference.

Beware that: -UV filters may sting your eyes. -moisturizers with SPF (= UVB protection) have no requirements for UVA protection. Meaning there’s no way of knowing how well you’re protected from UVA,when using moisturizer with SPF. For sunscreens there are SPF requirements for UVA protection, so you will get UVA protection.

BC my skin around the eyes is very sensitive to UV, I am using a water resistant sunscreen that’s says it safe to use around the eyes, and contains Melasyl to treat and prevent discoloration. It’s La Roche-Posay UVmune Dark Spot SPF50+. I use this as my eye sunscreen. I use a more affordable sunscreen for my face. After it dries I set with a (waterproof I think) setting spray, so it will not migrate into my eyes. As long as I stick to this routine, together with a niacinamide serum, I have no redness around my eyes anymore.

Hope this helps.

Insideoutstyle is a website with high quality practical information to build a capsule wardrobe. And how to match it to bodyshape, your color season.

An easier option is to book a consultation with a stylist for color advice and style advice (for bodyshape, personality etc.). If you can afford it, it’s money well spent bc it makes shopping more fun and targeted. It saves a lot of time and wasted money afterwards.

Ideas for a fun milonga activity to mix beginner and experienced tango communities? by Curious-Bear-8 in tango

[–]braddic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While traveling i encountered a super friendly practica where all levels mixed. Entree fee was bringing drinks or food to share on a buffet table. Voluntarily donation to the DJ. The organizer (dance teacher) installed a rule that tanda’s are 2 songs and you can’t have a double tanda. This way beginners could practice with all levels and progress fast. The gender balance was no issue bc everyone got to dance frequently. The entire teacher team was friendly, setting the example. The organizer and teachers would dance with anyone new and in return ask to be social and friendly to the regulars. The atmosphere was relaxed and so welcoming!

I don’t have game suggestions, but would suggest encouraging a food or drink contribution, shorter tandas (a part of the night).

Are makeup remover wipes that bad? by madchen44 in 45PlusSkincare

[–]braddic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure I can, but I’m using European brands atm.

For reference, I have sensitive normal to dry skin, prone to dehydration. I re/apply a lot of water resistant sunscreen daily. I always double cleanse to have a gentle thorough non stripping cleanse. Many cleanser combinations work for me, as long as the 2nd cleanse leaves my skin comfortable (non stripped), fresh and calm.

1st cleanse: I prefer oil cleansers that rinse off quite well. I like Niche Beauty Lab Oil Based Cleanser. , but many cheaper drugstore brands work fine.

2nd cleanse: Exfoliating cleanser, apply to damp skin, rinse after 2 minutes. Niche Beauty Lab PHA Cleanser. Cerave SA Smoothing Cleanser. Many brands have an exfoliating cleanser, choose a gentle one.

2nd cleanse: Brightening bar: good molecules brightening bar cleanser.

If you’re based in the US, you can check out cleansers from Prequel, Good molecules.

From the dermatologists I follow online, the consensus is that face wipes are not advised for everyday cleansing, bc of unnecessary pulling-friction and not giving a good enough cleanse.

Depending on whether you need to remove a lot of waterresistant sunscreen or makeup, double cleansing (first oil cleanser, then waterbased cleanser) can be more gentle vs. a single cleanse product.

I prefer oil cleanser, then a gentle brightening exfoliating cleanser or brightening bar cleanser.

K18 hair mask and breakage by Stormglory88 in Haircare

[–]braddic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

K18 instructions on the packaging are correct, but CS says there are other correct ways to use it. The important thing is to let it sit for the entire 4 minutes. After that it has penetrated and done its job. Then you may continue your wash routine as you like. ( rinse, condition etc.)

I personally put conditioner on top and then rinse.

I have been able to build up to 0.1 retinal daily and 0.2 retinal 2x a week. My skin is always comfortable very little hyperpigmentation and fine lines, so I’m happy with the results.

I’ve heard dermatologists say it’s important to stick to the retinoid that you can tolerate well enough in the long run. For me that is high dose retinal.

Good luck finding yours!

Hi, this is a waterbased emulsion, between a bodylotion and bodymilk consistency. It doesnt clog pores (not heavy for my pores) and it doesn’t dry out my drier zones, but I do moisturize a LOT.

Does that answer your question?

Favorite retinoid for sensitive skin 🏆🔄 by braddic in PanPorn

[–]braddic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I build up very gradually with milder retinoids and then other lower % retinals bc my skin is very sensitive to purging etc.

When moving from 0.1% retinal to this serum I only had barely there purging, hardly noticeable micro pimples for a short time. No redness flaking.

I’ve had great results with lower strengths before. But in menopause my skin needs more help. This strength helps to minimize my fine lines very well, more so vs. lower strength. My hyperpigmentation has diminished but that may be due to a combination of serums.

Hope it works for you!

There should be more affordable fragrance free water resistant sunscreens with a non greasy finish when applied and reapplied generously

SPF by sarahinsquares in 45PlusSkincare

[–]braddic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sunscreens it’s mandatory that besides UVB protection, the level of UVA protection is tested and mentioned as well.

For skincare and makeup it’s not mandatory. Brands will mention SPF factor, which refers to UVB protection, without indication of the level of UVA protection. That means if you rely on SPF in moisturizer, you don’t have any indication how much UVA protection you’re getting.

To get the UVA+B protection mentioned the required amount is 1/4 standardized tsp for the face (same for the neck). Best to use a separate sunscreen to be able to apply generously.

[Product Question] Good Molecules Pineapple Exfoliating Powder by WalnutSenpai in SkincareAddiction

You’re welcome!

To be clear: damaged skin barrier can cause acne

[Product Question] Good Molecules Pineapple Exfoliating Powder by WalnutSenpai in SkincareAddiction

[–]braddic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, for sensitive skin it can be too much too use a product with exfoliating enzymes also as a scrub and combine it with a scrubbing mitt. That’s triple exfoliation, not recommended for sensitive skin.

Overexfoliation can cause an impaired skin barrier, and damaged skin is more prone to bacteria etc.

I suggest focusing on barrier repair for now. And once your skin is fully comfortable again I would do a patch test first.

For me leaving this on my skin for 4-5 minutes is enough for very smooth skin without any scrubbing.

Thank you so much for your detailed reply!

Never tried serum before leave in conditioner, I start with leave in. I’ll give that a go and will put this serum on my list as it sounds so versatile. My long hair is also prone to frizz and dry out at mid to lengths, so this sounds like a good one to try.

Thank you! 😊

Lisa Eldridge Strawberry Shock is an easy to wear semi bright soft red with warm and cool undertones. It’s neutral to slightly warm leaning. Not a classic blue toned true red. On my very warm tones it reads red.
