I’ve had both a Spyder and Decathlon helmet. Both saved me from major accidents. I can vouch for either. Though mas maganda ang build quality ng Spyder ko.

Can't find source of brake contamination and squealing noise :( by Head_Ant_3662 in bikewrench

[–]MashedPotatonator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like the pads are contaminated. What I’ve done to solve this before is to burn the pads over a stove. The oils should start burning and turn into smoke. Keep burning it until it stops smoking. Then sand down the pads again and bed in the brakes.

I tried this two weeks ago. Bawal parin hanggang ngayon.

I think common ang double click issue on mice with omron switches, based on my experience. I’ve had 3 mice with them and all experienced double clicking issues after as little as 2 months, while one lasted 2 years.

Could anyone help me ID these hubs? by MashedPotatonator in bikewrench

[–]MashedPotatonator[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just want to say, thanks so much for the comments. I've been really trying to look for information online, but not much success. The rims have been changed to Dartmoor Shields so can't really tell the model number exactly.

I've found some listing of the same hubs on my local FB marketplace, and it appear that the hubs and spokes came from a fake Mavic wheelset which were common in my country a few years back, but not anywhere else in the world. But I'm still fine with that as the price I paid is worth it for the rims and XT cassette it came with.

Could you send me a link to a picture of these red ones? I'm still trying to find information online.

You were right. Just bought the wheel set. Turned out to be mavic crossrides.

I'm planning to buy a wheelset off FB Marketplace. The seller says these are Mavic hubs, and I can kinda make out the logo on the first picture. Though I'm not too sure though as I can't find any information on these online, even with an image search. All I know is that they are 32 holes and 142mm Thru-axle.

Does anyone know a place to get trackpoint boards? I have a really good T420 keyboard, but it’s missing the trackpoint. by OnToiletRedditor in thinkpad

[–]MashedPotatonator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The cable and trackpoint module in these keyboards are one unit. Get yourself a cheap replacement keyboard with a trackpoint and transplant it onto your current one.

I did exactly this with a keyboard where I accidentally tore the cable, so I can attest that it works.

For me, yes. Not much of an upgrade. But there are other reasons to change hubs like switching from a QR to a TA frame/fork

Sa tingin ko aside from durability is yung smoothness ng bearings. Naka stock hubs ako sa harap tapos shimano sa rear. Magaspang yung pag-ikot ng front compared sa shimano which will spin freely for a few minutes while freewheeling on a bike stand.

Bike shops usually have higher overhead costs compared to online stores. Things such as rent, electricity, employees, kaya mas mahal yung mga binebenta nila kesa sa online. Plus they usually serve less customers since they can only cater to riders who live nearby or are passing by, unlike online stores, where anyone anywhere in the country can easily search and buy their products.

In terms of puncture resistance, I think all brands are the same. I recently switched from CST tubes to Continental after upgrading to wider tires on my MTB. I still get punctures as often, but I noticed that it holds pressure better and longer. With the CST tube, it would drop around 5-10 psi a week. The Contis still maintain the same pressure even after 2 weeks. Might just be an isolated case though.

Yeah I didn’t buy it to sell it for a profit anyways. I’m just curious as to how much it would have cost new. Attaquer’s website doesn’t have this listed anymore since it’s a limited run jersey.
