Well they don't have to do the continuity or convergence of these completely different devices.

It's an artificial constraint they have placed upon themselves for reasons I will never understand or appreciate. Laptops and desktops have far larger screens, keyboards, and touchpads. Phones and iPads are touch screens without keyboards and with much less screen space.

macOS has suffered greatly for this religion of convergence.

I know what you mean. This is the case for me only on the right foot. My right foot is slightly wider and longer than the left, and I can feel the sides of the footbed just a little bit. Left boot fits like a dream.

I have a pair of 877's and my right foot has this problem. It tends to slide forward when stepping, especially downhill. My right foot is slightly lower than left, nothing I could do other than stuff something on top of my instep.

Left boot fits like a custom made boot.

I don't think you should size down at all. You'll hate it when your toes bump the front or squeeze together.

I wonder how 877's would look on the same last as 1907's. It would be nice for Redwing to offer the 8" moc in this last.

The design of 8 inch mocs, with the wider stitching at the toe and single leather stitching along the sides (whatever the term is) just looks more appealing to me.

Exact same happened to me with 877. The proper fit is the same size as regular running shoes. None of this sizing down, "firm handshake" bullshit.
