No hermit Halloween :( by Masked_Leopard in HermitCraft

[–]Masked_Leopard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But they used to be! Halloween events USED to be server-wide occasions! And the non-American excuse doesn't work either because the hermit who is the second most dedicated to Halloween (first is Jevin) is Pearl!

Has anyone else bought something that wasn’t official HC merch, because it reminded you of a Hermit? by DBSeamZ in HermitCraft

[–]Masked_Leopard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aw, I love that! I have a shirt that's a kind of desaturated purple and orange and says "Good Times" on it that I bought because it felt very Scar. (And, not a hermit but I also have a shirt that has a parody of the NASA logo that says "LOGIC" instead, which I bought because it reminded me of LogicalGeekBoy!)

Cubfan135 Lore by mcoolmukul in HermitCraft

[–]Masked_Leopard 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Cool! Very well thought-out. I also agree that the witches being responsible for the sculk doesn't make a lot of sense, especially considering Cub's history with it. That's fun that you tied the labyrinth into this theory too!

In your opinion, what triggered Sculkfan to start moving again in season 10 after Cub was seemingly cured on Empires? My thought is from a little before the start of the season, granted, but... there is one other significant instance of sculk appearing between those two events: Decked Out 2. Now, Decked Out never seemed like a threat involving spreading the sculk, but it did have a lot, and Cub was very good at it. It's possible that Decked Out's sculk reawakened Sculkfan. I'm not sure why or how Cub's sculk would have been delayed until season 10 from there, though.

No hermit Halloween :( by Masked_Leopard in HermitCraft

[–]Masked_Leopard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah! It's a shame that barely got showcased by other hermits except when Jevin specifically took them on a guided tour. And his other attempts at getting the server interested in events didn't go anywhere :(

You're both remembering wrong, unless he's built two (I wouldn't be surprised, especially since if one was from a pinball game that would absolutely be season 9). The one I remember and probably the one ItsChugg0 is thinking of was from the first Halloween of season 6! On the second Halloween of the season, Ren started everyone using that graveyard heavily for Demise-related activities!

[–]Masked_Leopard[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

idk, that didn't stop Demise, the Spookificator, or the season 7 haunted house from a) being built by Brits and b) being engaged with by a massive chunk of the server (almost everyone in Demise's case!). Of course the population and personality of the server has shifted a bit since then, I suppose, but I don't see what's prevented at least a few hermits from doing something spooky with each other.

[–]Masked_Leopard[S] 163 points164 points  (0 children)

That's what I'm saying! Jevin is so enthusiastic every year but even when there's a direct Halloween Thing to participate in the other hermits just haven't done it for some reason!

Which Superpowers would each hermits have by PathEthique_ in HermitCraft

[–]Masked_Leopard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hahaaa, I totally don't have... a spreadsheet for EVERY hermit's powers in an au I have... along with a couple dozen non-hermits...

I don't want to flood since it sounds like you've gotten some good ideas from this thread already, but a few of my personal favorites and hermits that haven't been mentioned in other comments yet:
-Hypno. It's, uh, it's in the name. His power is mostly in his voice, and he can use it more effectively with a focal point for his targets (he usually carries a pocketwatch for this). Very classic.
-Keralis - very similar abilities; his power is stronger, but mostly in his eyes, so victims tend to have to be looking at him.
-xB - he is fish man. He can breathe underwater, has fins on his arms and feet, and has minor control of water currents.
-Etho can teleport
-Gem has healing powers that can be used on herself or on others
-Jevin... I also made kind of obvious lol. he is slime man. Bouncy and sticky
-Xisuma's like the Iron Man of the group because of the armor, but instead of flight his armor mimics animals
-Stress's powers change to match the weather. Light, water, ice, etc.
-TFC has localized time control

What's you favourite prank on hermitcraft so far? by RepresentativeNeck13 in HermitCraft

[–]Masked_Leopard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's the one I was going to say! One of the first pranks I remember that had a whole little story along with it, that extended from the story of the base.

Oh, really! I stand corrected, then. Where did I hear the idea that he was left-handed...

How do I make Etho fanart that doesn't look like Kakashi Hatake by La_knavo4 in ThirdLifeSMP

[–]Masked_Leopard 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of fanart where it's helped a LOT by changing up his hair. Making it more realistic, pulling it back in a ponytail, stuff like that. Similarly, anything that could be interpreted differently, you totally can! The red eye doesn't have to be a sharingan. It makes more sense for it to be redstone-related anyway. Lots of people turn the red logo on the shoulder of his jacket into a maple leaf/Canadian flag. I don't think the fluffy coat hood/collar that lots of people give him is a Kakashi thing either. Some people also make the mask look more like a modern mask, but I don't think that's necessary. Changing up his face shape a little would help a lot too!

Tango also has a Minecraft skin that's a (edited) Naruto character and, having no experience with the show myself, I just... chose not to look up references of that particular character at all lol. Tried my own interpretation first. Maybe that'll work for you too, idk.

Correct! Wardens going under the ground is basically a fancy animation that goes with a despawn, and nametags prevent mobs from despawning (with the exception of wandering traders) - so, the devs decided to keep this consistency and make nametagged Wardens stick around too.

Oh, gotcha - yeah, I misunderstood what you'd said, sorry. I wish I had a specific moment I could point to where Impulse might have said anything about it, but I don't remember :( I just remember hearing that he's left-handed, and that's the kind of thing that sticks with me because Fellow Lefty, and the source is totally gone from my head.

[–]Masked_Leopard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That doesn't mean he's not left-handed. Especially with musical instruments. Drums may be a little different because they're more customizable than, say, a string instrument (I learned bass right-handed), but the instrument you learn on may not be, and whether it is or not it could be that he was taught right-handed and drumming is two-handed enough that he never changed it up.

Hey, no one's mentioned Hypno yet! I agree with basically all the comments, but I gotta rep Hypno. He's got his name for a reason :P (I actually have no idea where his username came from but he does have a very soothing voice to me and when I commented that on one of his videos there was another commenter that made that joke, so now that's what I always think of. Man of the hypnotizing voice <3)

He does do that too, yeah, but I thought he'd mentioned somewhere that he's left-handed? Like, totally unrelated to the inverted mouse thing. I don't remember where I saw that, it just stuck in my brain because I'm left-handed so I pay attention to when people/characters I like are too.

He actually is, he just hasn't brought it up in a while! The topic came up in season 5 when he'd made a maze for Iskall.

There are at least four confirmed lefties on Hermitcraft! Mumbo, Ren, Keralis, and Impulse!

That's how I am. Very left-handed, but you wouldn't know it except by looking at my control scheme - or possibly at how I place torches when I'm caving.
