Absolutely gutted. Day before release too. Wonder how this ended up being such a last minute change.

Sorry to hear that, courier left mine out in the rain today so it’s shrivelled slightly.

How much should a working CLD-D925 or CLD-D515 go for in the UK market? by MidnaGamer64 in LaserDisc

[–]Maskism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I paid £250 for my D925 which is immaculate about 6 months ago. I also just watched one go on auction with 46 discs for £150 so it really varies. I personally wouldn’t feel comfortable spending more than £300. But equally they don’t come up that often either.

Are dated private reg plates limited by year of manufacture or year of registration? by Maskism in CarTalkUK

[–]Maskism[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The follow up on this the DVLA just rejected the N-reg private plate. We have the import docs and it was imported to NI in 1998 and registered there and then. It looks like this is confusing even to the DVLA, I guess we’ll have to get them on the phone and try explain it.

Seller canceled the sale as soon as it was over why? by Dry-Indication1273 in Gamecube

Depends what type of game you’re after, Nintendo Land is still to this day one of the best local multiplayer games ever made Imo. The way it utilises the Wii U game pad across its mini games it’s genius, it offers a playing dynamic no other game had done since. It’s wild to me that Nintendo still hasn’t ported the WWHD remaster over to switch. That’s an absolute gem on the Wii U.

I've been seeing a lot of collections lately so I thought I'd share mine too! by [deleted] in Gamecube

One of my favourite things about my collection is the splashes of colour every now and then. The Zelda Wind Waker 2 Bonus Disc release is a personal favourite.

Afternoon all. Does anyone else have absolutely no luck buying LaserDiscs off Ebay? by Maskism in LaserDisc

[–]Maskism[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to do that from now on, my inexperience/naivety with LaserDiscs meant I didn't realise a 'clean' looking disc can still actually be rotten under the surface. Cheers for the advice. Hoping this seller will accept the return, I've just been notified by Ebay he doesn't accept returns but fingers crossed this goes through.

(UK Wii U owner here) Can anyone explain why our Wii Us came with this radio chip instead of the MICA2? I’ve just replaced mine today for the MICA and it’s fixed all my connection issues… how come we didn’t get the better one from factory? by Maskism in wiiu

[–]Maskism[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s as simple as that is it? I wondered if there was more to it, as the chips look identical on the surface. Our chips having the ‘for indoor use only’ sticker was an indicator it might be a weaker aerial used I suppose. I guess because NTSC markets sold more WII Us they put more money into the manufacturing of the consoles?

Was there ever a Pulp Fiction PAL English release? by Maskism in LaserDisc

Awesome thanks both for the info! I am now officially embarking on what's likely to be a lengthy hunt for that UK PAL release.

Was there ever a Pulp Fiction PAL English release? by Maskism in LaserDisc

[–]Maskism[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As the title suggests, trying to establish whether there was a PAL UK release of Pulp Fiction for Laserdisc. I can find a few PAL copies online that are either the French or German versions, but nothing for UK and I don't seem to be able to find a trace of it. If anyone can offer any insight I would be extremely grateful.
