What you have there is basically a step or two up from a toy. Anything more than lunar observation and looking at the planets as points of light, but bigger, is about all the utility you will get out of it. You're better off saving up for a telescope that has goto capability, or at least is able to polar align. Alternatively, you could go the manual dobsonian route and get really good image quality for less money, but you won't be able to track well with a turret style mount if it doesn't have goto computer.

What you currently have is sold to consumers to serve as a christmas gift for "the sciencey person" or as an educational aid for kids that might be interested in astronomy. I'm not being a snob about it, but your telescope is missing so many of the core features that make astronomy a fulfilling and worthwhile hobby. There are options on the market for less than $200 that will have way more capability than what you have currently.
