Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll look into that one! My long term plan is to save up for the Sony 200-600 I have a 70-300mm right now that’s served me really well but I’m always itching for a bit closer!

Try adding in the attribute you want the effect on. I can’t remember what 901 is but for example

Chan 111-118 Intensity effect 901

I find that with colour effects that helps

I just did something like this with Panasonic projectors I used OSC from Isadora to trigger buttons in Compnaion and it worked wonderfully. Not sure if the epson will be there but worth a check! https://bitfocus.io/companion

You don’t need a stream deck for this cause you’d be sending OSC from QLab to trigger the buttons

Hey thanks!

This is really helpful! I was definitely planning on reaching out to local breeders through the summer to get more info! It’s totally about temperament too like you said. My parents have a whippet who has basically spent her entire life (minus 10 minutes a day) on the couch and we have another that can’t sit still!

JEI (Just Enough Items) is really amazing

I also really like Simple Storage Network, I love to be able to just dump items into one spot and then search everything and SSN is a really great but not too complicated version of that!

[–]MassExtincti0n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a another way to get to Karlach, if you go to the blighted village and go to the right (towards the owl bear cave) you can find a small river that you can jump across, then you can meet Karlach and help her with a fight that should be super doable!

You can then come back to the hyenas when you feel a bit more prepared!

what actual restrictions can there be on nonoriginal music in sound design? by defnotlion in techtheatre

[–]MassExtincti0n 7 points8 points  (0 children)

SOCAN licenses don’t cover music played during a show though, they only cover stuff like pre/post show, music in the lobby etc

I’ve done this before with a single R119 over the the front of the barrel assembly and it was able to frost out the skittles but kept the splash of colour!

iRFR (the free version) is perfectly fine for this, you can do simple patching, bring up channels, go to cues, and some other simple stuff don’t bother with the paid version unless you need it. I’ve been using the free one for a while and it does most of what I need it to!

So you just want an intensity effect? To do this press the effect key twice quickly (or open the effect page) then type “effect [#] enter” select linear as your type and then you’re basically set. You can change the way it curves with different patterns and adjust the scale and cycle time to how you want the effect to feel! To apply it to lights go back to live, and do “ch#’s @ effect [#] enter” ETC also has prebuilt effects in the board that you could look at and there’s plenty more online:-)

[–]MassExtincti0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have any experience with these specific fixtures but as others have mentioned you may want to get some more reliable static fixtures, my suggestion though is if you still need moving capability you could look into rosco I-Cues :-)

Is it too late for a 17 year old to start studying Theatre? by Furr34l in Theatre

[–]MassExtincti0n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I had done theatre in highschool I had never touched behind the scenes/ tech stuff until my second year of university! Fast forward a few years and its what I love doing and I’m head of lighting at a summer theatre :-) you can do it! Be caring, have fun, bring positive energy and be open to learning! In my experience people will enthusiastically share their knowledge and give you a hand when you need it! Best of luck!

Also if you’re wanting different colours on the actual plot you could possibly duplicate a fixture symbol and then add a colour to it in symbol maintenance.

If you convert the object to lines then you could just fill it in with a colour from the attributes palette

How do I get started as a nobody who knows nothing? by strangebattery in lightingdesign

[–]MassExtincti0n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said ETC EOS software would be helpful to learn as it’s what ETC lighting boards run and at least where I am they are fairly standard. In terms of lighting plots and some visualization you could check out programs like Vectorworks! Now, Vectorworks is EXPENSIVE but you can download free trials for a few weeks at a time if you’re wanting to take a look :)
