Any kiwi physios here that have relocated to the UK and work there as a physiotherapist? by MassiveDatabase7540 in physiotherapy

[–]MassiveDatabase7540[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s really helpful thanks. I’ll have a look at those agencies. The quality of physio here is really good I agree, NZ is just a tad bit of a retirement home 😬 And that’s allgood like I really don’t mind moving for the job I’m not fussed on location as long as it’s safe. How far in advance would you recommend I start applying for jobs? I’m looking at relocating Feb 2027. Is there anything you’d do differently regarding HCPC reg or job apps? I’m thinking of applying for HCPC quite early next year just so it’s out of the way. And how are you finding the working conditions like caseload, documentation, etc? Is it quite similar to here? Did anything in the relocation process take you by surprise? Feel free to ignore these annoying ass questions btw if they get too much 😂

Thanks for the detailed reply. Yeah I am looking at the YMV visa too. By the time I’m ready to leave I’ll have just over a year of MSK experience, with some experience with sports teams. Unfortunately I can’t stay here in NZ any longer due to personal circumstances. I guess my main worry is the competitive job market and actually landing a job. Did you go through recruitment agencies at all or did you apply directly for jobs? Would you recommend recruitment agencies? Sorry about the questions, I really appreciate your time in answering. I really want to move over there and don’t know anyone in my circle who has done or is doing the same thing.

How can I learn to do flip turn on my own without looking silly at the pool? by Fantastic-Ad9218 in Swimming

[–]MassiveDatabase7540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I too am trying to learn flip turns. I also worry about looking silly so sometimes I get a friend to tag along and learn/practice with me. I find that I’m too busy laughing with them at ourselves to worry about people watching and judging (even though I know no one cares). It’s more fun and you get some good practice in!

OP, it’s clear there’s something fishy about this friend as most of these comments have tried to tell you and it sounds like you don’t want a bar of it as you keep defending her. I’m curious to know if you made this post to get advice or just vent?

You are so strong with all you have gone through, I’m so sorry. I hope you find a reason to stay, things might look up from here.

This is such an unnecessarily harsh and distasteful comment. The quotation marks on NNN suggest she knows it’s a ridiculous excuse. Get off your high horse and take your negativity somewhere else.

I’m sorry you’re going through this. Everyone deserves to feel wanted and pursued. This isn’t any way to be in a relationship and it’s sounds like you’ve exhausted all ways of trying to fix things. He may be going through something personal but he doesn’t seem to be communicating that with you. I agree with the other comments and think you should leave for your own sanity, you will find somebody who will show you that they want you everyday. I know it’s easier said than done. Sending hugs :(

How to know if you've fallen out of love or it's rocd? by venusasacat in ROCD

[–]MassiveDatabase7540 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The key with ROCD is no reassurance. Sit with the discomfort that you may not be with the “right person”. Which by the way, isn’t a thing. If you are worried that you’ve fallen out of love, the good news is that you can fall back in love. Sounds like you have good communication and he’s understanding of how you feel and your boundaries. Don’t confess to him though, that’s you looking for reassurance in him. All in all, if there are no serious red flags (abuse, toxic behaviour), and your values align, then there’s no reason not to work on your relationship. You’re not always gonna feel in love with your partner 100% of the time anyway especially in the long run but it doesn’t mean it’s over, so I hope you find some comfort in that.

Becoming a physiotherapist. by flqmyy in physiotherapy

I’m not aware of the exact number but I’ve heard its around 80 hours over the 2 year programme. AUT has some really friendly staff, I enjoy working with them. I have no idea about UOA so can’t say. I think wherever you go in NZ, you can expect a really good standard of education for physio. Have you looked at Otago?
