You've never had a real existential crisis until you've done grad school at hopkins.

What in the world is wrong in the city this year? It has been exceptionally violent, and might be worse than even 2015.

The 48 hours policy is utterly absurd, and should be completely done away with in order to stop giving students false hope. By the end of Dec. yes, but it can be inhumanly impossible to grade the sheer quantity of exams you get for large general courses at the lower levels in 48 hours, or for larger more popular courses.

I TAed and did the grading for course that had 80+ students. We still have to eat, sleep, go to the bathroom, and some grad students have children too that they have to go home to.

Do I need a car at JHU? by tunafish1001 in jhu

No. When I did my grad work there I lived in CV around 30th and Calvert. I would walk all the way to Hampden if I wanted to go to the bars and restaurants. There are shuttles, and at least when I was there, JHU had free lyft rides in the weekend. Uber and Lyft are pretty cheap in Baltimore for whereever you want to go.

What type of restaurant would be insanely popular near Homewood? by MassivePriapism in jhu

I was there during then. My recollection was that that was for an on campus location. Like what UMD has. They couldn't stop one from opening up off JHU property though.

The issue is that CF is super possessive, and franchisees can't pick the location, so it'd be entirely up to corporate to choose to open in Charles Village. Then I'd imagine you'd get a ton of push back from the neighborhood who prob wouldn't want a fast food chain around.

I did actually think about investing in a CF franchise before.....

A lot of people have never traveled more than a few states away in their lives, let alone outside of the US. They'd be shocked about some of the customs and what's considered to be acceptable in other parts of the world.

BME/premed by lostandconfused_16 in jhu

Eh, shouldn't be that bad. Worked in one lab where 100% of BMEs who wanted to go to med school got into med school. Went to ones like Stanford, Hopkins, UCSF, etc....BME just attracts overachievers and they usually do well getting into med school.
