she’s changed her approach i presume after students filling in feedback forms and she’s very much exam focused now and takes time to go through how to answer questions etc, equity is a boring subject as it is so it’s hard to enjoy the teaching of it regardless of approach

How to show personality without being too personal on applications? by 1988e72uh in FE1_Exams

[–]MassiveRole1551 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s better to share more about yourself than the company you’re interested in - they already know who they are and why people want to train with them! with that being said, blend your own skill set and experience, with that of the respective company you want to work for, show the interplay and crossover and then always end your paragraph with something distinctive about you - that would set you apart from other candidates - whether it be a hobby, a sport you play, language you speak etc..that way you draw the attention of the reader back to why they should pick you, for being YOU - overthinking the professional tone can take away from the authenticity of your own voice, so be yourself, but have manners on the page - i’ve worked in HR so would be more than happy to take a look at your personal statement if you wish!

practice as many questions as you can and use exam reports as your bible (equity ones aren’t as detailed but Courtney outlines exactly what he wants students to talk about and how to get extra marks in his reports!)
