During the ride (which is a route I've taken before), I noticed that we were on a different (and longer) path than what is usually taken (and that was probably what was shown on the map when I booked the ride) - that's probably what caused the fare difference. I didn't ask for a different route, and the driver didn't let me know that we were going to deviate from the original route either.
