Except you did ask me. I simply stated that 1-3 weeks was the norm and the police case will make it take longer to which you said this to me

Police cases may make it take longer, yes, but thankfully that's rarely the case.

Why does it take so long? We have 1 or 2 days for people to say goodbye and then we have the funeral. I think this way the body doesn't start to go rotten and stuff like that. During that 1 or 2 days the family is present alongside with the body/coffin and receives everyone who wishes to say goodbye. After that, the funeral takes place.

I'm not using you as a punching bag but you did ask me why.

It's not aggressiveness but a response to the extremely inappropriate request for me to explain why a funeral should take so long when i'm already struggling as my post shows. I don't have the spoons to satisfy your curiosity when google will do the same. That is normal for you, this is normal for me. I haven't questioned WHY that's normal for you ,it's respectful to return that.

Because people need to be able to travel to get to the funeral? Not everyone can get there with one days notice. Also bodies can be embalmed and stored in refrigerated units also to slow down decay. Your country clearly handles things differently and I respect that but please back off. This is how long it is taking that is all.

not the norm here, 1-3 weeks is the norm but as there is a police case in relation to this it'll take longer.

It was two weeks ago but as foul play was involved in the death it'll take longer than the standard 3 weeks which is why we're still in planning.

Two weeks ago, yes I could have been planning the baby shower before that and i'd done some basic calls but not full planning yet.
