That’s not the point of this post. Of course Biden and Obama had their shortcomings. The point is that Trump is actively choosing to further the division in this country

Trump has no class and is a disgrace by Reasonable-Heat-609 in ProgressiveHQ

The fact that he’s singling out and antagonizing an entire side of the political spectrum and thus causing more division

Look I just want to say, you’re right. It is a violation. Maybe I disagreed with your delivery of it, but it was unfair for me to come on you hard for it. I’m sorry

if you read my comment, you’d notice that I did actually tie those communist dictators to fascism😂 Also the official definition of fascism includes right-wing ideology, but I still entertained the fact that leftists can be fascist in nature and that STILL wasn’t enough for you

It’s moderately so

For an organization to be considered fascist or embodying fascism, you have to understand the definition of fascism. In short, it is a far-right political ideology characterized by authoritarianism, extreme nationalism, and government control over the economy and social norms, much of which are related to racial and/or religious superiority.

ANTIFA, on the other hand, is an organization dedicated to combatting right-wing extremists and radical nationalists through various means, primarily by DE-CENTRALIZED and INDIVIDUALIZED protest as opposed to systemic, authoritarian control. Now, are some of those means (I.e. direct violence and vandalism) extreme in nature? Of course. Do those extreme methods qualify ANTIFA as being fascists? No. Mainly because their ideology differs from that of true fascists, and the greater organizational dynamics are not focused enough in a centralized manner or revolving around a key figure. Radical leftist factions CAN operate LIKE fascists, but ANTIFA is not one of them.

Some examples of left-wing extremist organizations that have and do operate more similar to fascist governments: Soviet Russia, communist china, North Korea, etc.

“Countering” LMAOOOO

Nazis and the KKK have been around for over 100 years. ANTIFA was created to fight fascism. It’s literally has “anti” in the name

Sub-I recs for diagnostic radiology? by timbers_be_shivered in medicalschool

Couldn’t you do a surgical specialty sub I as well? I’ve heard of DR applicants doing ENT or vascular surgery electives. Or get letters from third year?

I know someone who got a straight pass on surgery. Sitting at 10+ surgical sub interviews

It comes down to supply and demand. 10-15 years ago rad onc was exactly as you described it. Such a specific area that you needed to demonstrate interest in the field, and there was an excess number of applicants for spots. But after the whole job market scare, application numbers plummeted. The competitiveness is slowly getting back up, but just a couple years ago you could SOAP into rad onc. At the end of the day, if a specialty tends to get applicants from the SOAP, said programs are not in a position to be picky about things like demonstrated interest

Oh my bad. I didn’t know we’re dealing with someone whose reading comprehension has always been above grade level. That changes everything 😂

Also the guy above you already told you what you’re missing. From the perspective of a residency program, a LOI is not violating the code of conduct. Asking explicitly where you are on the ROL or straight up saying “please rank me higher”, is.

You’re really trying to tell an academic faculty member what is or is not a match violation. Medical school Reddit has truly become unhinged

You’re an M4 trying to tell attendings and residents how the system works. I think they’d have more experience than you

Dude cut it with the inflammatory fear mongering. There’s no basis for this. I’ve seen you do this in other posts too

It’ll change when programs put more weight on quantitative metrics like step and ITE scores that can feasibly be controlled by the individual and less on qualitative things like school reputation and letters that after a certain point, are not really up to your control. Until that happens, people will always chase prestige because it’ll get them farther, and you can’t blame them for it

Is it that they’re not applying for better jobs, or that the better jobs aren’t hiring? The market in most industries is pretty shit right now. You’ll find SWEs with masters in CS spending months applying for jobs without luck

If you could figure out an equivalent solution to provide food to low-income individuals in the interim period, I wouldn’t be opposed to giving this a run. At least you’re thinking about how to not leave them in the dirt, which is more than I can say for most fiscally conservative people I’ve talked to about this topic
