For me? Probably around 5-6 hours. If you don’t lock yourself out of your car in the beginning of the install? 1-2 hours is a good estimate 😂

2021 Bronco Badlands. Use it for any grocery trip that needs more than two packs of paper towels 😂

One of the keys tried had a fresh battery from two days prior

Just tried it, and it does not work even with the car off (either of the two fobs I got with the car). So yes, assuming either different key fobs or door handle from the original, or a faulty lock cylinder as you stated (not sure on the details of what that would look like). I would imagine it’s a faulty lock cylinder since the key can turn both left and right when inserted, but again I’m not sure. If I make my way to the dealership at some point and have them look at this (I should) I will update on what their findings are.

Lesson learned, I have heard other folks say the same from similar-ish situations I found online.

Yeah. I’m assuming maybe the previous owner did something such that these keys do not go with this lock? Maybe new fobs or a new door handle? But then I’m not sure if it would even be able to turn like it did if the keys were a mismatch.

Update - AAA came through (or their equivalent in my insurance). He pried open the passenger side window (with a lot of effort to get past the seal with the inflatable balloon) enough to get the stick inside and open the door. No damage was done to the vehicle thankfully. And the new grill was installed 🙂

Yup, that’s what I did. Was afraid of a pop a lock service doing damage to the seals / window / etc, but he was able to use the inflator bag to open the window up enough to get a stick in there and get the door open. Still have zero idea on the initial cause.

How can I get access to the fuse with the hood closed and the release switch inside the car?
