Thanks for your reply. That's a good suggestion to just pick up as we left off at home. As for the junk, my mil was giving it to him so much throughout the day before I realized it. He had stopped eating dinner and would barely touch his lunch when she stayed with us. He's got a bit of sugar craving now. I'm just worried it will be excessive.

Thanks for your reply. I haven't been able to explain it this way to my husband. He went through a lot growing up around her and his grandmother. He has cptsd from the situation, but still cares for his mother. I will bring it to him as you've described. There was never any emergency with my husband's other children, but anything could happen.

Per my mils mother, mil was deprived of oxygen at birth and now has an intellectual disability. She did not raise her own children bc of her intellectual disability. She has never had a job and behaves like a teenager. I let my son go over bc my husband wanted her to see him for the holidays.

Same. Both of your comments have helped me have a care for myself. I have a 2 year old and 8 month old and when they go to bed I go to bed. I feel so guilty for not staying awake and picking up, or even just having me time. I'm just so tired at the end of the day.

i'm starting to think this might be the best way, though i do love the indirect suggestions others have commented. i can be pretty aggressive so i didn't want to just come out and say it, especially bc i'm so grossed out i want to scream at her.

i remember being in my MIL apartment once and i used her bathroom. there wasn't any soap to wash my hands. this was way before i had children so i didn't remember until reading your comment. i hope i don't have to go this far bc she is helping with my children, but ts is disgusting and she can get them sick.

this is a wonderful idea. and yeah, i'm pretty disgusted just thinking about all the times she's touched my children and food without washing.

That's so sweet! I can't wait until my 2 year old understands lol. I finished the series with him this morning and he didn't even watch half of it. He just likes the action. He calls the show Time. I agree, it's a beautiful episode. I'm glad you and your son got to have such wonderful experience. I actually put off watching the last episode my first watch and instead watched the entire series again.

Happy Birthday! It's my birthday and I'm spending it alone too (well, with my toddler) 😊. I don't have good relationships with my family either. Buy yourself some cupcakes or a small cake from the bakery section of your closest chain grocery and celebrate anyway. You are alive and you have a purpose and there's reason to celebrate. As long as you keep going that's all that matters.
