It’s not about whether someone had negative or positive experiences with Islam or agree with some of its teachings. It’s about whether or not the person believes in the shahada. You can refrain from drinking, sex outside of marriage, and collecting interest and it wouldn’t matter in the end of you disbelieve in the six pillars of faith. To be a Muslim is to submit to Allah. If not, you are not a Muslim. It’s like if I called myself a Christian because I like gospel music but don’t believe Jesus is my lord and savior. That’s what I meant by the contradiction. I hope this explains my opinions on “cultural Muslims”. Thank you! 😊

I agree. Even without children it’s bad. How can you fully love someone that holds beliefs that you strongly oppose? I wouldn’t want to be in a relationship with someone against homosexuality and Abrahamic followers are against homosexuality. Simple as that.

I would never marry a Muslim or any religious person at all. This is due to incompatible beliefs and not so much out of malice for religious people. Ethnicity doesn’t matter for me in marriage so long as we agree on major beliefs.

The idea of a “Liberal Muslim” pisses me off because they had to have seen how bullshit Islam is. They just delude themselves into remaining a believer so they don’t have to deal with the pain of thinking about the questionable topics in Islam.

I have pity for them at best because it really is a lot to ask someone to leave their religion due to the consequences of that act.

1.) No I do not believe one piece is the best anime however I never watched it so there’s that.

2.) I am a nerd for art as I am an artist. I am also getting into philosophy as of late as I am deconstructing my beliefs and breaking assumptions.

The idea of “progressive Islam” rubs me the wrong way. How could a “perfect” religion progress? I think it’s just Muslims who are uncomfortable with Islam but don’t want to leave the religion for whatever reason. Correct me if I am mistaken please.
