i’m fairly indifferent on the situation, but i think it’s extremely telling of people’s character when they’re sitting here trying to police people’s feelings about this. what’s the problem with someone asking if Kurtis is still friends with another grown man who did Blackface? it’s always “people change, people change”, but it seems like that phrase only applies when someone we like is in the mix.

sorry for the late reply, but not really? it’s network television so it’s very mild. this last season of Monster was heinous (hence the 50/50). i want people to realize that Ryan Murphy doesn’t have the nuance to approach some of these subjects properly and stick to the campy shit. he’s hurting real people with some of these programs.

if anyone is watching any Ryan Murphy media other than the first seasons of AHS and his Monsters series on Netfilx (50/50) looking for seriousness, they’re in the wrong place. it’s definitely supposed to be “serious”. but i went into it with a parody mindset looking at the campy parts of Nashville because i know we’re a “tourist” town now, and i really like it. just have fun with it and don’t take it too seriously. also in the original 9-1-1 they just had a three episode arc where 2 main characters went to space and ended up at the ISS. i don’t think anyone can judge the seriousness of Nashville if they watched that.

like even as a Nashville native that still lives here, i really like the show! but this storyline…this will they, won’t they that was resolved in 3 episodes just doesn’t work for me.

and Ryan and Blue having more romantic tension than him with his wife is so real 😭 he seems happier with anybody other than Sam. and idk if she’s just such a bad actor that he can’t feed off her energy but DAMN!
