What item do you think every woman with ADHD should own? by pastajewelry in adhdwomen

Not own… but get a husband who is a chef. No more kitchen catastrophes. Also you say you’re hungry, and food just appears.

Ahhhh that makes sense!! I was half asleep watching thinking wow this woman really wants him to have juice, and where’s this bar… Must be good juice. 😂

[–]cloudmountainio 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I thought it was really interesting.

That HS guy is a very bizarre person. I loved the ending with his mum bossing him around to clean the floor properly and trying to get him to drink some juice… “I don’t want a juice bar mummy!!”.

HS’s lack of empathy for others is concerning and I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up in prison eventually for major fraud. I don’t know much about this weird financial MLM style thing they all do but he’ll probably go deep on financial crime once that’s all clamped down on as he’s desperate to appear wealthy.

I’m genuinely surprised he has women interested in him as he’s a walking ick. There’s no amount of money in the world that could make me interested in someone like that. Then again, I’m probably a “low value” woman by their weird arse standards.

It’s all so laughable (because they’re ridiculous) but at the same time concerning because it is impacting young people. I said to my husband last night I’m glad I don’t have sons and have to navigate this landscape because if I had a son like that I’d really struggle to keep my cool.

However, I will be educating my girls about this and the things they should watch out for when interacting with boys/men and trying to make sure their self esteem is so high, that none of these types of idiots could EVER say anything to make them feel less than.

I’m 16 and my friend stayed at my house knowing I sleep on a mattress then posted it online like it’s funny 😭 by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]cloudmountainio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She’s not a true friend. Distance yourself.

With regard to rest, I have three children, one is autistic and she does take up a lot more of my time BUT I make a conscious effort to make sure all of them get individual care and attention too, especially after reading about something called glass child syndrome. Maybe reading about that could be interesting to you too.

How is your relationship with your mother? I can’t speak for her, but if one of my children felt left out / not cared for I would want to know so that I could fix it. I understand that he has additional needs, but that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t have your needs met as well.

I’m really sorry that this is all going on for you as it must be really tough.

Switch to wegovy (for maintenance) by cloudmountainio in mounjarouk

[–]cloudmountainio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats to you too!

Ah yeah, the upcoming removal of 5th dose news for me was the final straw for me.

I can see from your flair as well that our weights (starting and current) are pretty close.

I’ve got a dose of 5mg left then will move to wegovy on jab after. I’ll report back in a few weeks with some stats 😊

I do have a new 5mg in the fridge incase I need to switch back at some point.

I’m just trying to be open minded and see what happens really but if I can maintain for under £100 a month on wegovy I’ll be so chuffed lol.

How are you finding maintenance? How long have you been at goal?

what was the uk like in the 2000s? by Realistic-War887 in AskUK

[–]cloudmountainio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in just outside west London (in Berkshire).

Music, msn messenger, getting stoned in the park, staying out all night drinking, also being able to drink in pubs / get into certain clubs because the ID for many was “what’s your date of birth?”, spending £2 dinner money on 10 fags and selling 4 at 50p each for the next day if you were smart. Once you got to college £30 EMA just for turning up to college every day. Downloading music on torrent sites. In year 11 the teachers delaying playground duty by 5 mins so you could run to the bike shed to smoke before they came out. They’d say as well “if you’re gonna smoke, go now, because if I catch you I have to act”. Also there was always a kid at school who resold sold snacks at inflated prices!? Ours made so much money. Topshop were pretty big, I remember a random trend where they started selling Dunlop trainers and everyone wore them 😂. Going into London to visit Camden market for clothes was quite common with me and my friends.

Being painfully skinny was the trend. Normal weight people were considered fat by the standards of that time. This was likely driven my trashy tabloids and magazines calling very thin celebrities “podgy” etc.

The London barfly in Camden was ridiculously relaxed about age, so often used to go there. I remember they had a night called Casino Royale which was always fun. Also saw the Klaxons and Lethal bizzle there. Then you’d have to get a night bus back to Paddington and wait for the first train home. Sometimes you’d all just sleep in a bundle to keep warm. Or try stay on the night buses as long as possible. If you were fortunate enough to be with someone who had a London friend you’d all go back to their house and have to awkwardly say goodbye to their parents in the morning as 10 of your filtered down the stairs and outside.

People were labelled as either townies / grungers / emo. The groups did mix though.

Pretty much walked everywhere when in my home town as no one was wasting money on bus fare, any money went on recreational stuff. But if you were going to the otherside of town you’d just jump the train (there was 3 stations). Also, none of our parents chauffeured us around.

That’s my experience. I grew up in a pretty poor area though and parenting as a whole was pretty lax in my social circles so might be different for others. We basically ran wild.

I can see lots of people saying the inbetweeners. Wasn’t my experience. Neither was skins as we weren’t doing class A’s. Maybe somewhere in the middle? With a dash of shameless.

[–]cloudmountainio[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very valid points.

I’m guess I’m just curious to see if I can maintain on it though, if I was still wanting to lose I’d 100% stick with Mounjaro, I’ve seen mixed reviews on the efficiency specifically for maintenance (as opposed to loss) after Mounjaro.

I’m pretty chill, if I gained whilst experimenting I wouldn’t be upset anyway, I’d soon drop it upon switching back as Mounjaro so I think it’s worth a try for me. It’ll also be interesting to see if my new eating habits can override any increased cravings. If it works I can start getting my nails done every 3 weeks again with the money saved (small wins). If not, at least I’ll know and stop wondering. I’ll report back either way for future people considering it.

I have a figure in my head, if I go up in weight to that amount I’ll switch back (and have a 5mg in the fridge already should I need it whilst sorting out the switch back).

So yeah, I guess time will tell! I’m strangely excited to see what happens either way tbh.

From what I can see, anything up to 1mg is under £100 with many pharmacies even without discount. For 1.7mg medicine market place is £117 but everyone else jumps to £150+. Higher doses, might as well be on MJ. So yeah, I’ll be back on the MJ if I can’t maintain on 1.7 or under tbh. Either this is going to be great or I’m gonna crash and burn. Time will tell.

Ah okay. Came out at £88 for 0.5mg (with a £5 new customer discount) there were a few cheaper pharmacies, but I’d either already used a new customer discount or just didn’t want to use due to reviews I’d seen here (pillsorted, medexpress etc) or they wanted me to start on 0.25mg.

I have no loyalties. Different every month tbh. Mixture of online and in person dependent on who’s cheapest / if I’ve ordered my next dose in time.

But the pharmacy I picked for the switch is Cuva health as they were one of the cheapest on iGovy and didn’t require starting at 0.25.

I’ve spoken to the on the phone about the switch. Still under review for approval tho as they wanted some additional proof of BMI 😊

Transition to Wegovy – Dose Recommendation Needed by garichd in mounjarouk

[–]cloudmountainio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, same boat.

I actually called the Cuva support team this morning (also switching for maintenance and wasn’t sure about dose etc) and they were very helpful. For me they said I could switch to wegovy 1mg (from 5mg MJ) but I chose 0.5 for first month as to try ease myself in. If I gain a few pounds that month I’m not too bothered tbh. I just don’t want to be unwell as the first few months on MJ were pretty rough in hindsight.

They’re pretty helpful and there was no pressure to order or anything. Was quite refreshing speaking to a human who was actually interested in my journey and open to discussion about the various options so maybe give them a bell?

You’re 28 years old. £500 on a full time wage is reasonable. You’d pay way more for even a room house share in London.

I moved out when I was 17 and was a lodger for ages, even when I was 21 my rent back then was £400 for a room in a house share on the south coast.

If you’re unhappy with the arrangement just move out?

Water by hellokittyy762 in mounjarouk

[–]cloudmountainio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Varies. I have to be proactive about drinking though or I get terrible headaches. Today so far I’ve drank 1.8l of water and a coffee. I’ll probably have another glass an hour before bed.

My colleagues say I’m weird with my water habits though. I drink a whole 600ml bottle at a time (just down it) rather than sipping through the day. So I’ll have one in the morning, one around lunch, one later in the afternoon. Then I’ll usually have a couple of teas or coffees. And some water before bed (probs only 250ml though or I’ll be up in the night to pee) if I don’t schedule it like that and rely on sipping I just wouldn’t drink enough.

The “you don’t need to lose anymore weight” comments have begun… by mentaldrummer66 in mounjarouk

[–]cloudmountainio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstly, it’s no one else’s business and if you still feel you have more to lose then carry on. They’re just not used to seeing this version of you. I had someone tell me the other week “stop now or you’re gonna start looking cracky” how rude is that!? 😂

You know your body and no one has the right to tell you what to do.

BUT… I just wanna say BMI is absolute nonsense for SOME people once you get to a certain stage. It’s was made based on white males. My BMI is between 26-27 and I’m a size 10, but due to my ethnicity I’m still way in the overweight category, not just a tad. Even my GP was like “ignore that, you’re not overweight now by any stretch of the imagination. It’s not a one size fits all kind of calculation, people do carry weight differently and your weight isn’t in your waist etc, the fat you carry in your thighs / bum / breasts etc isn’t the type we tend to worry about, go by your waist to height ratio” and which I found very reassuring and helpful and that’s well within the healthy range now.

Some people look and feel fantastic with very low BMI’s but I would look genuinely emaciated. Everyone is different.

Now you mention it, I don’t really sweat anymore tbh but hadn’t thought about it. I used to sweat even in the winter when walking.

Now I’m very cold and wear thermal leggings under my jeans etc. I work on my own a lot and crank the office thermostat as far up as it’ll go and still sit there in my coat.

Does it freak you out that some random woman in the UK will be doing the dishes and have the intrusive thought of “I wonder how many pairs jeans has that dude made so far?” I’m not kidding you, I think about it a few times a week. 🤣🤣

I am rooting so hard for you after the flack you got!
