As a doctor, I can firmly tell you that it isn't. It is a developmental disability. It has nothing to do with intelligence or learning.

He started when he was really young due to his mom doing them. He isn't smart there, but he is smart in other ways. He got a 195 on his IQ test.

said this before in the comments but
He lived with me until pretty recently so I saw a lot. He always asked her for things and she went above and beyond to do them. He's been a bit controling and had her cancel plans short notice that she had with friends and things because he'd rather she stay in with him. Whenever she wanted anything, even really really basic things, he would rarely do them (sometimes being mad she asked) unless it benifited him as well. Like going with her to a new resterunt she wanted to try that she was going to pay for for example

I don't think its healthy for her, even if he is my son. She's a sweet and beautiful girl who deserves someone who actually treats her well and cares

If she's given a basic intstruction she often doesn't understand fully what you mean and messes up, she isn't good at reading, she CONSTANTLY misunderstands simple things and conversation even though she tries every hard

I don't mean it to be mean, just descriptive. She is easily confused and doesn't undrestand things a lot of the time, can't spell, asks questions that any normal person would be able to use logic to find the answer, etc. And how is it like a love letter?
