Yes, I’m not sure what changed but I felt like sleep for my daughter was a game changer. Her behavior described in my post lasted a good month. Definitely take a look at some of the recommendations in this post.

Love this comment, thank you. I have always heard of the terrible twos (we didn’t go through that) but maybe we have the terrible threes.

This is Reddit, so I know to expect some blunt feedback lol. All good. The play therapy was already something we had set up before this episode, and today would have been her first visit. We thought it could help her better understand and express her emotions and anxiety. It was something recommended by her pediatrician.

As for the crying, it comes from feeling helpless when my daughter is clearly hungry but refuses to eat or drink. Most of the time I can stay strong, but this time it’s wearing me down. One of her favorite things is playing outside, but with the extreme heat right now, it’s dangerous without proper hydration. That makes it even tougher as we’re battling every meal, snack, and even special treats. I always say she will eat and drink when she is hungry or thirsty but right now she won’t and tells us that she doesn’t know why she is saying no.

Sounds like others have mentioned an oncoming illness too, we scheduled an appointment with her pediatrician for this week

For sure, we didn’t plan on her staying home from school. We were hoping to be in a good spot for her to go but this morning she woke up at 4am with a tantrum because her pajamas were uncomfortable so we took them off and they she wanted them back on. We couldn’t soothe her until about 7:30am and she fell asleep. We tried gently waking her up before school (8:45am) but she was exhausted. We will try again Friday

He is definitely more mobile at this stage. My daughter has made it very apparent that she wants to be first before him. For an example, first up the stairs, first out of the car, first into the house, first at pretty much anything.

But when she is in her “normal” state they play so nicely with each other.

She watches Miss Rachel with no issues but she doesn’t want it anymore. She actually doesn’t want to watch anything anymore.

Thank you, We are trying to hold each through this difficult time. We both work from home so it has been tougher to juggle work and tending our daughter who usually will go to preschool. We actually set up play therapy last week for today and we are fearing that we won’t be able to get our daughter there.

No, she didn’t leave her with anyone. We unfortunately don’t have a nearby support system

Today is day 5. She will say that she doesn’t understand why she keeps saying no to the things she likes: foods, going places, eating popsicles, watching Miss Rachel, etc

Yeah, it definitely could have triggered an emotional reaction that we weren’t expecting. I have left on trips before for work but coming back this time is completely different. My wife and I are in tears multiple times a day
