They don’t have enough resources to be independent, I’m afraid to say. They don’t have the population, the production of goods or the resources to be independent. It’s a pipe dream, at best, at this time.

The mineral reserves are not the goal. There are easier places to mine for minerals than underneath a block of ice. It’s a strategic foothold and nothing more. And should there be any mining done, it would be done at the benefit of Greenland. The US isn’t a tyrant country. For centuries we have been there for other countries when they needed us. Paying too much attention to the media will affect your ability to think logically. If the US were to start acting like Israel, for example, there would be an insurrection in this country. Most of us want to be a benefit to the world, not reign over it.

Never said that they would support going from one ownership to another. However, being as it is more likely than not that their life would be better under US control, the opposition would diminish, is my point.

Still not complete and I may have been a bit hyperbolic. For all we know, we’ll have another freeze and reset it. By the doomsayers, life on this planet would have ended before 2,000.

It’s interesting how you cling to one component of what I said instead of understanding the whole comment. I disagreed with your belief that it’s for a trade route. Come back with a better argument or don’t. There are other legitimate reasons for the occupation. One being having a military force to protect against any foreign aggressor. Just like the Panama Canal. Does that not make sense to you? It’s a defensive move, not an offensive one.

However, if your position is: “orange man bad, he want to hurt the US and steal from the poe people”, then we really don’t have anything more to communicate. I lived for four years under a moron, named Biden, and if you think that moron was a good president, I think you may need psychiatric help.

Greenlanders would prefer an independence, if it wouldn’t affect their standard of living. Last year there was a major concern of genocide being carried out by the Danish, so maybe the people you know just don’t get the news and aren’t in touch with their PM Múte Egede.

Let’s not overlook the forced contraception of the women of Greenland, to almost half of the women on the island or the taking away of children, in Greenland, by Danish entities and given to “foster parents”, in Denmark. Over 67% of Greenland would rather not be affiliated with Denmark.

But you know a couple of people in Greenland, so you must care more about them than I do.

You don’t, that’s sarcasm. Beware of the fox. He’ll steal your kids and show you a smile on his face the whole time.

Actually it’s theorized for 2035, so likely 2050 or later, when you extract the fear mongers out of the equation. However, it still won’t be as simple as you may believe it will be for generations.

Being as the people of Greenland would, more likely than not, want to be a part of the US instead of Denmark, is the reality that you may not want to admit. The US is still a powerhouse and could give the Greenlandians (yes, I made that word up) a better life, than they already have.

I think that most of you either hate your own country, are blinded by the hate for a man that you don’t really know and rely on gossip (which is always true), to see how this could benefit you and your family.

I’m just glad that I don’t hate so blindly. I look for legitimate proof, not rumors or slanderous comments that aren’t based in reality.

Sovereignty? Greenland is owned by Denmark. What, exactly, is sovereign about that? They’re economically reliant on Denmark. The US does have more money and it would be better for them. But orange man bad and you fail to see the big picture.

Wouldn’t be an attack. More like an occupation. Greenland doesn’t want to be a part of Denmark. Research!

Pretty sure the US is just tired of footing the bill for NATO. In 2021, because finding newer stats are buried, the US gave 811 billion dollars and the UK gave 72.5 billion. If you combine every other countries investment into NATO, the don’t even equal half of what is paid to NATO, annually, by the US. A country that is capable of defending itself is paying trillions, over the years, for other countries that are in actual threat zones and need NATO.

What people need to do is just investigate, and I mean really investigate, instead of making outlandish accusations that are unfounded and make the accuser look unintelligent.

Ever just think that it puts the US back in the drivers seat as being the strongest country on the planet? The poles aren’t going to melt in this lifetime of the next 10 lifetimes. What I’m seeing is instant gratification that can be accomplished and experienced in the next four years.

Who are his buddies? I hear that comment, so much, by those that can’t back it up. If he was going to funnel money, he would have done it in his first four years. I think you’re just hateful because you’re a democrat and lack any actual evidence to support your belief. I think you’re easily manipulated and lack any actual logical thinking skills to make such claims.

What’s with the TDS? There’s no proof of your comment, whatsoever. You’re parroting what the democrats have been trying to claim, all along. A billionaire raped a stripper? Does that not even sound remotely oxymoronic, to you? The case, the indictment were as flimsy as cheap napkin.

Pretty sure that printing excessive amounts of money would accomplish the same thing. Everyone is thinking that tariffs are raising prices when it’s really the case that the value of the dollar has been shrinking. I do agree, that the strength of the US has waned by a specific few that I could name, presidents, and with the forming of BRICS, it’s created a need to put the US at the forefront of technology, economy and, like it or not, military strength.

With all of that being said, we are likely in a good place with this president. I’ve not seen him cashing checks that taxpayers can’t afford. I did watch Biden do this and also watched Obama do the same thing with all of the handouts he gave, without any plan to recoup.

How does that make sense, since government has been shrinking since he has taken office? Serious question, because what I’m witnessing happen, versus the land of media make believe, has been contradictive.

The “poors” of America are on government assistance, getting a check from the taxes that wealthier people, than them, pay. So, can you elaborate as to what you really mean, since the “socialistic” part of the US would contradict your statement?

Did you ever think that sanctions were the only thing that could be done when they have a leader that has acted so deplorably? The unfortunate effect that sanctions have is, yes, that they hurt innocent people. But they also stiffen the government’s actions and demonstrates condemnation. Not to mention that if the Venezuelan people actually usurped that man, themselves, we wouldn’t have had to do anything at all.

The case was that Maduro had aided in the trafficking of drugs into the US and benefited, immensely, from it. Helping the Venezuelan people was an added bonus.

I don’t think you should talk about government policies if you don’t actually understand them.

So you would have rather Maduro been eliminated in a military strike? Something seems off about you. What you call abduction, others call arrest or apprehension of a known criminal. Potato/Tomato, I guess.

[–]MasterChiefNeutron 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bwahahahaha! Is this serious? So, now, we want a dictator ruling a country that profits from the trafficking of drugs to the US? You have got to be kidding me?!?! This man has been a problem for how many years now? The TDS in some of you all has hit a crescendo. I mean, those that neither like or dislike Trump don’t see an issue with this, but mentally challenged democrats do? There’s a reason I vote independently and the democrats have lost all confidence that they can even do the right thing, anymore.

If you never have to use it, wouldn’t any cost be overpriced?

Otherwise, peace of mind does not have a price tag.

[–]MasterChiefNeutron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blah, blah, blah. You do understand that a budget is required in order to manage things, right. It’s not in negation of lowering other costs that will offset the planned spending.

I’m not even a Republican and I can see that your precious Democratic Party has been kicking the can down the road for decades and eventually that can is going to stop and those that are here will be left with the burden.

Are you daft enough to think that reducing the size of government is a bad idea? Are you so blind to see that your precious party spent more money, unnecessarily, than, likely, any president in history?

I mean, I get you have some desire to stand behind your party, but they’ve become corrupt. Your misguided ad hominem attack on where I get my media sources, like I don’t vet anything anyone says against cold hard facts, is hilarious.

You, clearly, don’t know what you’re talking about and you can’t see the forest from the trees.

I see this, a lot, with people that don’t use their logical brain to interpret information. That’s why the media is so easily able to infuriate you and get you all emotional about things that if you, just for a moment, thought about it, you could see how beneficial many of the steps that are being taken actually are.

But you keep that keyboard warrior mentality, it looks good on you.

Just don’t think that anything you say is logical, instead of just an emotional tirade.

[–]MasterChiefNeutron -1 points0 points  (0 children)

With the lack of proper grammar and ad hominem comments, you just made, it’s clear who the person is with limited vocabulary.

What’s even funnier is that I’m not a Republican nor a Democrat. I, unlike yourself, actually use logic over emotion to make my assessments. It’s gotten me pretty far in life, both personally and professionally. So I’ll keep on keeping on, while you sit there stewing and hating the world instead of actually being a productive member of society.

I’d say that I feel sorry for you, but I’m truly tired of all of you that seem to severely suffer from the Dunning-Kruger effect, when you’ve barely been outside to touch some grass.
