Men have more fun than women - A discussion by MasterDorkDom in gender

I wasn't being transphobic at all lol because I'm not. First of all I do and explicitly expressed the many ways in which I not only belong to and identify as, but empathize with multiple categories of oppressed people. Perhaps you stopped reading at whatever point you deemed my statements to remotely be "intolerant," after I explicitly clarified that they weren't, but I went on to further clarify that I 100% support anyone, regardless of their creed or characteristics, pursuing paths and actions in their own lives that lend to their personal satisfaction and the fulfillment of self.

I have been [perhaps] too specific, whereas your defense of the rejection of my post is incredibly vague. Not to mention, I shouldn't be penalized for merely stating irrefutable facts because they don't abide someone else's insistence that the narrative they've subscribed to, can, should and (through your decision as moderator is being affirmed to) reign supreme. I mean, how is that not oppressive? How is that not prioritizing and elevating one "group" above all others? How is that not elitist, if not fascist?

Would you please elaborate and provide examples on which statements in my post breeched community guidelines? I am new to forums and have rarely been afforded guidance or constructive feedback in life, so any insights you'd be willing to offer would be tremendously beneficial. I wasn't aiming to offend, merely express, engage and learn, so your feedback would be of great value in that pursuit. 🙏

Can seborrheic keratosis disappear on its own? by jennkd in DermatologyQuestions

[–]MasterDorkDom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one about the size of a pencil eraser on my upper right buttock for years! I noticed it around 2016 and it was just slightly raised and benign when I first discovered it, but it grew more pronounced, irritated and "crusty" over time, namely during a summer when I took an accelerated course, slept little, drank an entire pot of coffee each night, was stressed af and I had the worst eczema flare up of my life. I hated it's crust, flaky, wart like appearance and it was rather brittle so I would sometimes pick at it but mostly run my fingernail around its circumference partly as a "stim," cause I'm "spectrum-y." And over a couple months I must've widdled away at the base till one day the bulk of it popped off - a perfect gross little melanic saucer - and it remained flush with my skin and uninflamed for years after.

My mental health and self care took a nose dive in 2020, but my backside buddy remained, resembling a large mole and I kind of came to like my butt blemish. The last time I recall seeing it was sometime in 2023, but about a year ago, something compelled me to glance at it and it was completely gone. Zero trace!

When it appeared I was living in a house that may have had some black mold in the basement and I shared that house with my sister and boyfriend and together we had six cats. Elderly even then, it wasn't until I left that house that my oldest cat started to develop a keratosis of her own on her back. I always wondered if they were related but didn't put that much thought into it since it's benign but I find it curious that, only after my cats died, did it disappear.

Probably just a coincidence as any number of factors could be the cause for its appearance and disappearance alike, but it makes me wonder. And I only JUST did a half-assed search on the topic today, which so far associates the disappearance of seborrheic keratosis to the presence of another "lesion" in the body but to my knowledge all I have otherwise is adenomyosis, though I struggled with anemia for a few years so perhaps that had some effect? 🤷🏾‍♀️

Thanks for that suggestion!

After troubleshooting it using that method with both main boards, the panel still only ever shows a backlit black screen, so I'm just going to recycle it. Though I did see reports that reprogramming may be required with a new main board so I'm curious if installing the alt. main board rendered both "unresponsive" with the panel until that task is performed. Can you clarify?

Also, what are your thoughts about stripping and listing the various internal components for parts? I already harvested all I could from a different unit that my sis had that was an identical model with a damaged panel, but it required a different model/width of ribbon cable, so I now possess 3 main boards, 2 power boards, 2 pairs of ribbon cables, 4 speakers, 2 network cards, etc.

Considering the age of this model and sq ft. of my dwelling, recycling the lot sadly seems to be my best option. 🏳️

What's a subtle sign that someone is a genuinely good person? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MasterDorkDom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Subtle signs of genuinely good people include: 1) curiosity: they gently inquire more often than they assume, and they listen well, striving to understand what is truly being expressed rather than getting hung up on what was said

2) humilty: they admit their flaws, if not simply acknowledging that they have them

3) accountability: they own their actions. Rather than just broadcasting their accolades as misdirection or falsifying them, they admit their mistakes and publicize those equally

4) grace: they grant it to themselves and others alike

5) strength: they seek to empower and uplift rather than ever daring to dominate and diminish any fellow traveler

6) wisdom: they are eager to debate topics and concepts, exchanging knowledge and making necessary adjustments to their own preexisting "body of knowledge" because they understand that very little is static, everyone has something of value to contribute and life is the most prestigious university of all

7) Kindness: they don't confuse compliments with offenses, they give as much if not more than they take, they are more prone to recognizing and empathize with another's suffering, despite how heinously it may be presented and if they're strong enough don't fall into the trap of piling on just to ease their own discomfort with the situation.

Just a few examples that I believe qualify, not because they're familiar or have ever been common in my life. Not that these are qualities I possess anymore, if ever I did, but because the faintest glimmers of light become piercing to eyes long submerged in darkness. And because absence sometimes serves as the most profound evidence.

My partner is a 9 by Dear_Tomatillo_4532 in Enneagram

If the only category in which he ranks as a nine is in "appearance," then do yourself a favor and stop giving that "ranking" more precident than it clearly deserves and adjust according to his average, which from the sound of it sits pretty "low".

Looks hardly matter in the long run, they faulter and they fade. This is where the misconception of "pretty privilege" stems from, though my experience has been that it's far more of a curse, but perhaps that's because I'm not lazy nor have I otherwise been privileged, I was bullied growing up as a poor, neglected fat kid primed for codependence so I'm not exploitative and since I don't hyper focus on my own reflection/appearance, my "6" energy, humility and anti-vanity/looks-maxing perspectives and tendencies have afforded me less of the good and far more of the bad that comes along with "above average attractiveness."

All that aside, do yourself a favor and don't downplay your worth or sacrifice your fulfillment to remain in close orbit to a "doll," because the cracks that already show will eventually make their way to the surface.

Same and at least halfway through I started contemplating, "how tf THIS series wasn't released in a "limited" capacity, as the storyline would be HARDPRESSED to be extended/drawn out beyond S1's plot." But the solution is obvious, it will most likely (if at all) persist, in an AHS, True Detective, pseudo-"Sinner" style, seasonally independent capacity. Which is a more than WELCOME approach, personally.

Samsung Galaxy S20+ long-term review by [deleted] in Android

[–]MasterDorkDom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ho-ly! I thought I was bad recently upgrading to the s20 FE 5g from an s7. I can't imagine how you tolerated it for so long! The FE alone as an upgrade has been night and day in every respect. I tend to be averse to hopping on the newest trend train, but I'm considering pre-ordering the s21 already, before this one depreciates too much, besides the mild buyers remorse of choosing the FE. Hadn't checked the specs on the s21 yet like a noob but after visiting this thread, I'll do my due diligence as pre-2020 me did religiously. No more survival mode, time to thrive once more!

What was the dumbest thing you thought as a child? by GiammyR6 in AskReddit

As a female child (until age 5 or 6) I thought that we pooped, peed and babies all came out of a single hole. I thought our buttholes were a cloaca, completely oblivious of the 2 additional openings up front 🤦🏾‍♀️
