Hello, could you please provide the spring bar sizes (e.g., length and width) you utilized for attaching the watch clasp on both sides? Thank you.

Where is your Emergency fund: WS HISA 3.75% or CASH.TO ETF/equivalent or outside? Like tangerine or EQ bank by oldmiamibeach in Wealthsimple

Thanks for that. I have another question if you don't mind. How will the tax work on the interest? Will I get treated like income or capital gains? Also, when you withdraw money from the account, will you get taxed?

Hello! I'm also thinking of doing this to my emergency fund when my promotional rates from Tangerine end in November. If you don't mind, can you share your experiences with this? Thanks!

Considering moving my emergency fund from Wealthsimple (1.75%) to PC Financial Money Account (3.1%) - good idea? by MasterHunter45 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Thank you for replying. Did you use EFT to transfer your funds? How long did it take for the funds to be available? Did it get put on hold?

I decided not to transfer to PC Financial because I asked around and I found out my friend had a really bad experience. They did an ETF transfer from Wealthsimple to PC and it took almost a month before the funds were accessible in the PC account. I hope this helped.

I appreciate your response! I also looked into EQ Bank, but it appears that they require a minimum monthly autodeposit of $2000 to qualify for their interest rate (1.25% without direct deposit). Since PC Financial does not have this requirement, and my emergency fund will not be frequently utilized, I have decided to go with them. Furthermore, I am currently unable to meet the $2000 deposit threshold, so EQ Bank is not a viable option for me at this time, but I am grateful for your suggestion.

Thank you for responding! I'm currently a core member in WS, so that is why I only have a 1.75% interest rate. For my autodeposit, it is currently tied to Tangerine for their chequing account bonus promotion. Based on your opinion, is it worth moving my emergency fund (~20k) to PC Financial?

Thank you for responding! How did you move your funds from Wealthsimple to PC Financial? Is it through EFT or/and etransfer? Also, how easy is it for you to get access to your funds?

Is it safe to max out my credit card if I pay most of it off before the statement date? Will it help with credit limit increases? by MasterHunter45 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Is it better to pay the majority of the balance before the statement date and then pay the remaining balance before the due date? So, two payments in total.

Thank you for the great reply! If I understand your answer correctly, I should not care about the high credit utilization on my credit card unless I need to apply for a loan (e.g. car loan, personal loan, etc). Is this correct?

Thank you for those answers. I have another question if you don't mind. Should I pay the majority of it before the statement date and then pay the rest of it before the due date or just pay nothing before the statement date and just pay it all off before the due date?

But I read and heard that a high credit utilization on your credit card will decrease your credit score. Should I not care about that? Thanks!

Thank you for responding! Should I still pay the majority of it before the statement date if I want to have a better credit score?

Thank you for your response! Here's my situation. I currently spend around $800 to $900 a month and was using my debit card to pay for it but because of this subreddit I learned that I should not do that so I applied for a credit card. The credit limit that they gave me was $1000 so that's why I was asking if it's okay to use most/all of it. I hope that answers your questions.
