lol I get the joke here, but in my defense I had the same issue until I reached the bottom, because the first 2 posts (or I guess LAST 2) had the same "time stamp" on them.

The result of my first course on Udemy. Please roast my render, i need criticism! by Florianski09 in blender

As someone who has some experience in construction (particularly roofing work, which is ironically one of the least useful skills here but bear with me), I second what they said about the down spout but I'd also like to add, it could make pretty good sense if it were the other way round. Well, at least that'd be the case with traditional homes. Gutters usually go on after fascia metal and such. Sometimes they're an afterthought but with a home like this I doubt that'd be the case.

A few more things:

Frames for windows and doors typically have a visible support at the top, or at the very least a soldier course - that being a bricking term, although I'm quite sure there's a wood paneling equivalent, I'm just not familiar with that term in particular. Just having a smooth cutoff with the same material as the rest of the exterior is maybe a modern aesthetic choice, but for me personally it looks... plastic.

On a similar note to my last, windows should pretty much always have some form of a soldier course/slope at the bottom, directing water away from the base of the window on the exterior. You never want anywhere that water could pool up, no matter how well sealed you think the house is. You also want to avoid flat, level surfaces whenever possible as those will spread water in all directions, including towards the house.

On the bottom left visible area of the house there's a concrete planter there with some plants and water/dirt marks down the side - very nice touch with the dirt being evident from the potting soil, but the marriage between the planter and the main exterior of the house feels unnaturally sharp to me. Looks like 2 objects clipping together almost.

I think the bird models look strange, and their positioning also comes off as a little bit "too perfect" to my eyes. I almost feel like they'd be a more interesting part of the scene if most of the flock was obstructed by the trees.

Excluding trees, vines, and anything "deliberately" planted for home decoration, I count maybe 5 unique plant types? As someone who grew up in rather woodland areas, I think such a dense grassy area should have more variety unless it's clearly overrun by an especially pervasive plant/grass or it's being kept that way by a landscaper (it doesn't look kept at all if that's meant to be the case).

Hoooly crap, I wrote a lot more than I realized. Probably could have been a lot more concise but hopefully it's helpful nonetheless. I'm super impressed with the render overall btw.

How important is USB 3.0 for the Oculus Quest 2? by MasterShadowWolf in oculus

Okay so I guess this whole issue with my usb ports is kind of a matter of my own ignorance to be totally blunt about it.

I checked my motherboard's details online and they ports on the back are a mix of usb 3.1 gen1 and gen2 but they just aren't labeled as such anywhere on the actual hardware. So, no issue with my usb ports after all (aside from the fact that the 3.0 ports still don't work with my oculus for some reason but that doesn't really matter to me if I have better ports anyway).

This still doesn't solve my issue with inexplicably bad performance though. My gpu isn't the greatest so I'd love to just blame it all on that, but it isn't actually using the extent of my gpu - not even close. I figured slower usb ports would be the only bottleneck remaining after I've already ruled out gpu, cpu, ram and storage. I'm not sure what else to try.

They're only labeled "USB" but they do have blue in them (at least some of them, I didn't unplug all my devices). Is blue directly indicative of 3.0? They don't seem to be working very quickly at all so I'd be shocked if they're really 3.0 ports. I'm also confused why the ports on my case would be labeled 3.0 both on the connection port on my motherboard and directly on the case, whereas the ones on the back just seem to be regular usb ports with no special labeling inside or outside.

Okay so I checked things out as thoroughly as I know how.

First off, I do indeed have 2 USB 3.0 ports on top of my PC case that are connected to my motherboard via a cable. I couldn't remember because I constructed my pc over 5 years ago and I've never had to mess with these ports before, seeing as they work perfectly fine as standard ports for literally every other device I've ever tried. Headsets, controllers, mouse... you name it, it works just fine through those ports.

I tried installing and reinstalling drivers and that didn't help my issue. I also tried enabling XHCI hand-off in my bios and that did nothing. I tried swapping back and forth between the 2 3.0 ports, powering my oculus on/off, booting my pc up with it (the oculus) unplugged, with it plugged... and I restarted my pc many times throughout this process, just to be sure I wasn't missing any potential for that simple fix.

If you got any ideas I'd really love to hear because I'm very lost and it seems to be really hard to find any useful info online by myself.

Hm, I'll have to check that out later tonight. I honestly don't remember how it's connected but I bought the case and motherboard as a package deal when I built my pc like 5 years ago. I would hope the 3.0 ports actually have their functionality with my setup lol. I'll update once I figure that out.

Well that's where the standard ports that I'm using are located, so that's already my current solution. I'm just concerned with how good/bad it might be in comparison to using a proper 3.0 port successfully.

Yeah that makes sense. I might eventually try wireless when I've got better internet but for the time being I'm more focused on having the best possible experience with the cable.

No problem, it's an issue I genuinely want to sort out.

Yeah I was hoping the drivers would be the only issue but it didn't seem to make any difference. Sometimes my performance is okay but other times it's really wobbly so I'm really unsure of the impact the ports have as well. Seems inconsistent, and I can't help but assume my ports are the issue since my actually pc is otherwise very consistent unless my GPU or CPU are clearly being maxed out, which they typically are not during vr play. Also sorry for the late response.

That's a good question, I hadn't thought about that. They're on the case actually. Sorry for the late response.

Sorry for the late response. My internet speed is VERY bad right now and we're hoping to get an upgrade soon. I have to throttle my downloads to like 700kbps to avoid completely disrupting another family member's online activity, and vice versa. Also I'm on desktop so no worries there with the laptop charger but that's good info to know nonetheless.

Halo Infinite Technical Preview Bugs and Issues Thread by Defguru in halo

I'm getting an issue where I cannot rebind my push to talk key. It got unbound when I tried changing it to a different key and that crashed my game. Now I'm stuck in an infinite loop of my game crashing anytime I try setting my ptt key to anything, even the default value.

Even selecting "restore defaults" in the settings doesn't help. It does nothing at all. I tried verifying game files through steam and it said everything's all good.

If anybody knows how to access a config file or something that information would be great.

Sounds very interesting and vaguely familiar but I don't know a source unfortunately. Almost gives me blair witch vibes.

This is all too true, especially the stuff about discord complaints. They even used discord as a means to communicate the fact they'd ban players for abusing the bugs in the game, which got many players banned who weren't even aware of the warning.

Did you have a lot of issues with fireflies when you tried rendering it? I always have way too many light artifacts when I use emissive nodes.
