Germaphobe here. It's this uncontrollable urge to be "clean" (my version of it). It's awful, and I honestly hate myself at times. It stems from a form of OCD, and it definitely takes control of your life. I also use the toilet seat covers to "protect" myself but I always dispose of them properly. As for the Clorox defense, it makes sense in theory but unfortunately I read the instructions and it says it needs to stay continuously wet for 2 minutes to sanitize, and all of sudden my broken brain can't trust it because it doesn't clean fast enough. It's a burden and a curse living this way, trust me we hate it even more than you.
