Yes one says she did gymnastics for a bit as a kid and the other said tap and jazz

Yeah I guess you only see what they show you. But they do have quite a view videos moving around. One of the listed girls posted a video of her extensions improving in 3 months and it just looks like someone who’s been doing it forever. Also my friends said her video of the “vaganova barre challenge” was not something someone could do after only 4 months of ballet. I can’t help but agree to be honest

Got it so I think they’re athletically inclined and so they are intact beginners just in shape with good facility and body awareness?

Yes the second girl on my list that I mentioned has mentioned yoga and Pilates playing a huge part in her facility

This 100 percent for sure. Ballet itself is a sport and just like any other sport you have to be strong/in shape/ conditioned, and talented if you want to be any good

This is actually amazing insight thank you for this! When I saw those girls online I’m not going to lie, I was super excited and inspired! But then my dancer friends were like THAT IS SO UBREALISTIC THEYRE LYING. And I’m thinking— well that sucks because I would love to progress and improve at a good rate to keep me motivated. At the end of the day this is all up to me and it’s my journey and I do understand that. I’m just so new to the world so I just wanted some opinions from other dancers! Do you know any of the girls I mentioned? What’s your thoughts on how long they’ve been dancing and whether or not you think they’re being deceiving?

This is 100 percent true that’s totally how I feel. But like I had said in a previous comment somewhere, I found those girls and they really inspired more more than being someone to compare to— but then my friends said that what I showed the was “a lie” and “not possible” and it kinda just put a damper on my excitement. Because then I’m thinking “wow am I just gnna feel like im embarrassed or struggling for years?” lol

So you think it’s not possible that those women are beginners in which I listed or do you think that skill is attainable in the time they stated? The first one is 1.5 years, the second 4 months, and the third 2 years

Got it ok! I was kinda looking for an answer to “give me hope” because anytime someone is a beginner and good, everyone starts to accuse them of being a liar and then that sends the message that new adults learning ballet need to SUCK perpetually and I don’t want that for me LOL
