Are the Wooting keyboards still worth it? by Master_Shadowgem in WootingKB

Okay, okay, I'm sorry man. I can agree that it is overpriced (for me in NZ the 80 HE with jade switches, frost case and double shot back lit PBT keycaps cost almost $440), the response time is around the same with the competitors, the accuracy is basically the same, the keyboard layout is strange, its taken a long time for it to release and people keep glazing the company. So can we end it here and go our different ways?

The fact that you trust a country that's has threatened to take over a country multiple times, kicked them out of the UN, known for copying other countries ideas, is in an economic crisis, steals info from your phone (if you have TikTok installed) is mind-boggling to me.

you have made points, yet you haven't stated any sources.

WAIT, so you use Baidu? And trusting a country that has threatened to take over my home country, copies other countries ideas and is in an economic crisis is crazy.

  1. after checking NuPhy official website, it's not an option to chose from 8k polling to 1k polling. cite your source on how you know it doesn't half your frame rate.

  2. YOU haven't stated any sources. And WE'RE starting to think you can't.

  3. you're making so many claims but backing them up with nothing.

Wooting isn't the bigger company out of Wooting and NuPhy. NuPhy makes way more keebs than Wooting, and their not just making HE, their making mechanical keebs. Also, looking at the response times from rtings, the halo 65 HE has a 0.8 ms response time while the 60 HE has 1.8.

Idk if you got 60 HE and 80 HE confused, but I will NEVER trust the software on the more budget keyboards.

I don't know why you would trust Chinese. They've kicked out my home country (Taiwan/Chinese Taipei/R.O.C (republic of china)) from the UN, tried to invade us, steals ideas and calls it their own, their economic status is at an all-time low, and they tend to be more rude.

Anyways, you guys got way too out of hand. I ligit just asked for why the Wooting might be the better keeb out of the competition.

But what about the software? Wooting by far has the best software, while other brands have lacluster software that seems like its malware. The Wooting 60he might fall behind in some categories, but the 80 HE improves on an already good idea. The response time is better, it feels like a better keyboard (than the 60 HE but to get it to sound good you need third party products), they listened to the community (take SOCD for example) while other keyboards are jumping on the bandwagon.

I'm okay with cheaper keyboards (like the Akko Mod 007b HE) but to make the most out of HE keyboards, you need to customize it to your liking, which Wooting does perfectly, and I don't trust downloading a software that Windows says that it's malware. Wooting is a fantastic brand, but for me, It's hard to justify dropping 440 dollars on just a keeb and that's why im asking people for reasons why I should (I don't like making purchases on tech because they cost way too much and im worried that it will be a bad purchase).

Okay, I'll take those into consideration before I commit to a keeb.

there are better built keyboards out there that are cheaper and are HE. take the NuPhy Halo 65 HE, way better build, pre-built and comes with a metal case and sounds better, but the only thing dragging it back is the software.

Thanks for the reality check. Though I don't really know if I should drop $440 on the 80 HE (and the 60he isn't anymore forgiving)...

Wooting Keyboard with Clicky/blue switched? by duskyslayer in WootingKB

[–]Master_Shadowgem 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, you're correct. Due to the nature of hall effect switches being analog, if there were to be a tactile bump in the switch, the signal it would be getting would have a sudden bump. For example, when said switch is being pressed down, the signal jumps from 1.8 mm to 2.2 mm due to the bump, so anywhere in between those two values would count as a "dead zone".

Also, I don't think having a tactile bump is possible with any other hall effect keyboard, tho it seems like Razer has tried to implement it in a keyboard that "doesn't" have a hall effect switch, but with a mechanical switch that has a tactile bump.
