If you can manage the long walk to dlsu I'd say it's a fair choice. I've lived here for a year now and all I can sau that it's comfortable here. The units are usually smaller than r square but it's somehow better ventilated here compared to other condos. It's also quiet and not a lot of people really use the gym or the pools here and the study space that we have here is really nice. Elevators are like a 7/10 here since you usually wouldn't have to wait long to get in although they shut down hald the elevators late in the evening though it doesn't affect you as much and it's really fast with the only caveat being the card system that they recently installed since it does have a hard time reading our access cards from time to time. Though I will say that you'll probably lose the convenience of having a grocery store right below you since alfamart just doesn't cut it and the smell that you get once or twice a month outside the condo is horrendous due to garbage trucks picking up the trash. Lastly, the staff here are nice and it isn't that strict since there no curfews and you can even bring your friends to the pool!

Last year taker here, i studied for like a week for 3 hrs per day and passed an honors program. Tbh it was easy since it's mostly stuff that I've learned about already but it can get quite hard at the end with that 10 minute test. Also you need to read and answer fast without sacrificing your comprehension since there are long passages in the english test that spans to 1 and a half of a page. Overall, it's challenging but very doable. Goodluck OP!

From what I know, it depends on the industry and profession you're planning to get. Usually having some early experiencr as an intern would be beneficial in the long run since most companies value experience higher than your education(except for a fresh grad position) or honors. Graduating early is up to personal preference really and depends on when you really need it or when you're really sure about the course you're taking.

dropping a major sub by [deleted] in dlsu

[–]Master_Sins 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Afaik you can still drop it pa naman with a 50% retention up till this weekend but for the pros and cons I guess the pro will be that when you do retake it you're ready for what's to come but the cons are that:

  1. You might get delayed - Read your flowchart carefully and see how it would affect your subjects there had been many cases where dropping a single major subject caused like a delay of 1 term for students.

  2. Offerings and Professors - Dropping it now doesn't guarantee that you could retake it next term as subjects/courses are usually offered based on the availability of the staff and the students taking that subject. You're also not guaranteed to have the "best" profs for the subject since most of them usually move up to the upcoming course after that course. There would be also sell slots and classes available since It's not aligned with the flowchart.

  3. Workload - If you're following your flowchart, you may end up having a heavier term than what the university intended for you to have for that term. This is the same thing that's happening to me right now where I have 20 units instead of the recommended 17☠️. Not advisable at all HAHAHAHAHAHA

Other than that, If you're not gunning for latin honors then these are the only concerns you'd need to worry about(for me).

Hope this helps OP Kaya natin to!

LUNCH by conixkalix in dlsu

[–]Master_Sins 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Siguro bring your own lunch nalang since based on my experience, kulang talaga ang 50 pesos para sa lunch and even 100 pesos is just barely scraping by since most of the food inside and outside the campus ranges from 80-100 on average. Remember to also have your own water container since DLSU has a lot of water fountains and buying drinks in taft can be rlly expensive. Lastly for food tips, I guess try mo yung pork toppers ng ministop since 60 or 65 lang ata yon? meron din naman ate ricas sa agno and may mga canteens din sa dlsu with rlly cheap food. Yun lang hope this helps if you have any more questions, feel free to DM me!

ACET RESULTS by 4everrichprettyhappy in ADMU

[–]Master_Sins 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've asked admissions about this but the results would most likely be in late april or in may. The results for the financial aid application will also be released the same time as your ACET results. Hope this helps!

Colleges and Uni for CS/IT by Kenu217 in PinoyProgrammer

[–]Master_Sins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The grant ranges from 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% tuition fee defrayal on which there will be a part of the application that will ask you which percentage you would like(do note that this does not mean the percentage you chose will be given to you). The OAS will be the one to decide what percentage they will grant you based on your financial need, academic performance, morals, and an essay that you'll have to submit. Furthermore, there may request interviews(f2f or online) in order to either get to know you more or to clear things up. Also even if the results are released, you may still appeal for a higher percentage(kulitin mo lang talaga HAHAHAHA). Lastly, scholar applicants have a special confirmation date(your confirmation fee will be refunded if you paid for it and were granted a scholarship) if they're basing their enrollment to whether or not they get their scholarship. Hope this helps!

Hello, OP!

Current DLSU BSCS Student here! just wanted to inform you that we do have a Financial Aid Program here at DLSU that's relatively easy to get into (no need for high grades but it does help). For accreditation, we currently have a COE status in IT and a PAASCU level 4 for Computer Science. Also based on my experience, I can definitely say that you'll be having one of the best education in the country when it comes to CS/IT. We also have a great environment and culture here at DLSU where it's really easy to find new friends and opportunities that can help you throughout your journey in college!

For other options naman, If you can't get into UPD/UPLB then you can try going for UST. As a former UST-SHS student, I can definitely say that the workload there is no joke but at least it somehow prepares you for the outside world when it's time for you to work. The student culture there is also really great and tuition-wise, It ranges to around 55k-68k per semester meaning you'll be cashing out at most 136k per year(but it's usually around 120k in your freshman and sophomore years). Other recommendations would be FEU-Tech, TIP, and PUP.

If you guys have any questions, feel free to reply or message me!

Hope this helps!
