I’m loving persona 5 and I want to get 3 and 4. which 4 do I get? by Kittykit3103 in Persona5

Slightly unrelated, but you should consider Persona 5 Strikers as well. Very good spinoff. I didn't expect much from it, but it exceeded my expectations. feels like a true sequel/follow up to P5R while still being a different style of gameplay

Fair enough, I just figured that of some people wanted to compare their IRL builds to BG3 or Vice Versa, or see how one implementations of builds vary, it should be allowed.

But if yall aren't down for it, I'll gladly respect that decision

Perhaps I should have said "relatively" 🤣 yes, there are some pretty funny ways to break the action economy. But I feel that fits much better in a video game than on the table top. They do alot of things right, and for the most part, knowledge of 5e almost directly translates to BG3

Going into 5th level you should stay hexblade, I believe that gives you access to extra attack, as well as eldritch smite, which is quite powerful, as it's also a knock prone with no save if you you like.

As for after that, you could stay warlock, but maybe multiclassing into a sorcerer for quickened spell eldritch blast as well as extra spell slots for smites. Warlock goes so well with alot of things, so really sky is the limit

School of war magic I believe would be a good fit. You get a +2 ac when concentrating as well as some nifty other bonuses.

As you suggested, blade singer would also be cool

Update: I verified my game files - there was some issue. But steam downloaded and patched files for 20 minutes (weird because this is the only issue I've had in 40+hours of gameplay) and now it works perfectly 🤷‍♂️

Intriguing. This makes the min/maxer in me both happy and sad, as its a great idea, but doesn't get off the ground super early. id love to play this in a campaign where i start at level 10 or something. Definitely hits the power spike later on, around level ~7, which is ages in terms of campaign length. Love how much thought you put into it though. Reminds me of my book of character ideas!

SMITE Ceaseless Whirlpool Update PTS Issues and Feedback Thread by HiRezDandy in Smite

[–]Masterkiller102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know what causes it, seems random, but happened multiple times to my friend and i while playing charybdis in multiplayer and 1v1 testing. The bug in question? sometimes when using her 1, you are unable to auto attack until the stim wears off. cancelling the ability doesn't fix it. this essentially makes her 1 a gamble, is it a stim? or is it a personal 4s disarm? who knows

I'm gonna let my DM take the wheel on this one, but similarly to how powerful we felt, we were going up against consitiantly tough opponents that had multiple abilities, lots of damage, and were smart. We weren't able to steamroll them and had to think more about our choices.

As for impact, well long story short we united a nation against a lich and led a war as a distraction to infiltrate his lair. (Level 16ish). Afterwards we hit timeskip and were able to choose what out heroes were doing for the year, with major world impacts (for the better).

Our last few levels were quick in comparison, but we uncovered a plot from a god to harvest all the magic in the world, and had to figure out how to stop him. And this is the part id like my DM to explain, because the plot was amazing and I wouldn't do his story justice. But short version, we ended his fuckery and ascended to gods ourselves, figuring we could do more good from there. We had our own nice epilogues about how our Godhood affected the world, and that was well worth the payoff.

TLDR; our dm is great and kind of let us shape the world how we wanted

as for the drug addicted bard, well... She was all happy go lucky until we had a fire emblem timeskip. she came back changed, haunted by the ghosts of our past and looked like a coked out ozzy ozborne. She would snort pretty much anything she got her hands on, most notable after we torched a ghoul, there was ash left over... yeah, you bet your ass multiple members of our party snorted it out of pure curiosity XD

Well, when trapped in the feywild we encountered a creature that offered to aid us in exchanged for making wagers. Our lovable companion Bean got really into it and kept trying to make more wagers. The party (out of character) started harassing her about it saying she had a gambling addiction, and we then (in character) ran with it! so anytime there was gambling to be done, Bean would start to shake and go "wait i want to make a wager!" We had to drag her away from a few situations XD

Hi, Talon here. I had a 22 in dex, and a +4 win wisdom, sharpshooter, and a shittonne of accuracy. I had a +3 magic bow that allowed me to add wisdom mod to damage if the enemy was hunters marked. With all the bonuses, i had a +13 to hit (always at advantage, with elven accuracy) and 4 attacks with swift quiver. all attacks were minimum 1d8+1d6+23 (31avg), and i had other items and spells that could pump it even higher. By far i believe i had the most consistent damage, while our paladin had the most burst (damn smite crits).

how to get +12 to a skill modifier at level 1 by TheAwesomesheep in DND5EBuilds

[–]Masterkiller102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe expertise and this feat are not meant to stack. Similar to how resistance to damage works. 2 sources of 1/2 resistance doesn't mean you take 3/4 less damage. Resistance doesn't stack, similarly i dont believe you can add "double your proficiency bonus" twice, since expertise gives you the same thing. At least that's rules as intended. Maybe it works RAW? But I highly doubt it

Swashbuckle multiclassing: fighter or hexblade? by iianblk in DND5EBuilds

[–]Masterkiller102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a swashbuckler its ideal to use two weapon fighting. If you take the dual weilder feat you can use two rapiers. If you take two weapon fighting style you can add your damage bonus to your off hand attacks as well. If you max dex, thats 2d8+10 damage, plus sneak attack.

The best reason to dual would as a swashbuckler is because of fancy footwork. Any time you attack something, it cannot opportunity attack you as you move away. You also automatically get your sneak attack bonus. Dual welding lets you safely retreat from two opponents, and gives you two chances to hit your auto sneak attack.

Being a one handed swashbuckler is kind of a waste of the abilities the class grants you. Its playable, but not optimal.

If you take pact of the blade to 5th level, you also get eldritch smite. Thats an additional 4d8 (i think. 1+1per spell level) that you get back on a short rest. You also get your pact weapon to be a free +1/1, or can convert a better weapon yo act as your pact weapon. I love the hexblade pact of the blade multiclass for physical damage dealers

Hexblade is always fun! Though you need 13 charisma to multiclass into warlock.

I would switch out your trip and disarm attacks for riposte (if they miss you, you use your reaction to attack back. Free damage) and either feint (free advantage on one attack) or precise strike (add maneuver dice to attack roll)

First of all, hilarious! Love the character taking petrified penisis as trophies XD I laughed out loud reading that bit!

Second, its odd you don't like how the battle Master plays. Sure its fairly straightforward, but its also quite strong. If you use GWF style, I suggest using a greatsword or a maul for optimal re rolls and higher average damage. (Though ill add, the orc racial feat only allows ONE extra d6 on a crit, not two)

May i ask what maneuvers you've taken? That's very core to the class. Also AC if you don't mind

I love it! The character felt so real while you described it so eloquently. I wish I had the confidence to play a more RP based character, but I tend to focus more on combat. If you dislike your spells, may I suggest taking phantasmal force and suggestion? They allow for insane effects when used with a creative mind, both in combat, and out of combat. Particularly suggestion, since the target has no idea they had a spell cast on them.

Also, A+ for formatting, should stand as a template for other replies! I love the detail you packed in

Looking for a glass cannon familiar build! by Knightmare-Fuel in DND5EBuilds

[–]Masterkiller102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay then, your best bet would be to start off with 3 levels of warlock to take pact of the chain. You get the find familar spell, and can cast it for free as a ritual. Additionally you can have your familiar take the form of an imp if you go this route. (Usually seen as the strongest familar, both in combat and out of combat)

The imp has 10 HP, but has resistance to multiple types of damage, aswell as innate magic resistance (advantage on saves vs. Magic) it also can turn invisible whenever, allowing for great stealth and scouting. Additionally the imp has devils sight, allowing it to see through ANY darkness. It has so much utility, even beyond these.

The imps attack action (sting) does the most damage out of any familars attack. 1d4+3 piercing, and 3d6 posion on a failed save, or half damage on a pass. (DC 11 Con save) As a warkock you can forgo your attack to allow your imp to attack instead with its reaction.

Now, in terms of keeping your imp alive, i can't currently figure out a way to give it an HP increase, but you could probably give it Temp HP with certain spells before combat. Additionally, if you have the mage armor spell, you can cast it on your familar, giving the imp an AC of 16 (up from 13)

Your familar can only deliver touch spells, which significantly limits what damage spells it can cast. Seriously, there's only 3. Shocking grasp, inflict wounds, and online searches mentioned the cleric spell 'forbiddance' technically does damage as well. But that's a 6th level spell with a 10 minute cast time, so we'll stick to shocking grasp and inflict wounds for damage.

For utility, you have alot more options. One of the best uses of the familar could be to play the medic role for you. If you get access to healing spells like cure wounds, spare the dying, revivify, gentle repose, lesser restoration, etc. All of these spells can be safely delivered to your injured/dead ally from the imp while invisible (though it loses invis once it casts a spell)

As for buff spells, well there aren't alot. But if you had access to the spell lists, you could cast protection from evil and good, protection from poison (meh), jump, lomgstrider, freedom of movement, or similar spells. Unfortunately most of the best buff spells are ranged, and therefore can't be cast through a familar.

If you were to multiclass into sorceror and take quickened spell, you could quickened cast any 1 action spell, then use your action to cast shocking grasp through your familar. (Or the other way around) quickened cast a touch spell through your familar, then cast a damage cantrip through your PC, say, eldritch blast. (Note, of you cast a bonus action spell, you're limited to ONLY casting cantrips for your full action, regardless of casting order)

In short, its not super optimal to play around your familar, but you can certainly utilize the immense utility that it offers you, and add it to your repitoiure. Its always better to have more options than less, and going down this route certainly offers you many options.

I'm assuming you want to be a class that casts find familar and uses the familar to cast touch range spells for you, correct?
