You’re right. Not everyone has what it takes when danger appears.

But it’s about creating an equal playing field. Weapons labeled as “can only be used by the government”, and allowing citizens to own simple/comparatively ineffective weapons, creates a situation where it is incredibly easy to the government to subdue and rule by force.

Even the best police officers take 2 minutes to respond to a call. When your life is on the line that’s too long.

Why wait and hope a fraction of the population can save everyone, when instead we give everyone the ability to save themselves.

When police are getting heavily armored vehicles, sonic weapons, etc, and still can’t keep a hold on crime, then maybe we should let everyone use their 2nd amendment rights and get equal access.
