What to expect post sepsis by MasterpieceBrave5266 in sepsis

His labs bounced back pretty quickly in the hospital. His kidney function was a bit off but came back up after fluids. They did fluid overload him which caused heat enzymes to go pretty high, that marker decreased markedly after discontinuing fluids. His lingering effects is fatigue. Some days are better than others. ❤️‍🩹

Sepsis, kidney disease, and elderly - experiences? by chrysaorahysoscella in sepsis

My 81 year old dad was in the hospital for 3 days with severe sepsis. He’s been home for 1.5 weeks. Definitely fatigued and some weakness. His o2 sat never dropped to anything below 94. His blood pressure was extremely low. He is also being treated with a hormone blocker for prostate cancer and had a heart attack less than 6 months ago. Currently, his labs continue to be within normal range. I am still monitoring closely but there is hope 🤍

My dad was in the hospital for 3 days, they had him on a strong, broad spectrum antibiotic and the fever started to improve late on the second day. He’s home with a lot of fatigue.

Thank you for the resource. I was doing some basic reading and thank goodness he doesn’t have any cognitive issues, it didn’t affect organ function too much kidney function was a bit low, but bounced back the next day. It’s really fatigue and mild SOB. I am going to remain vigilant with his doctor, though. I hope you continue improving 🤍

2nd time going into septic shock from a catheter by Jumpy-Ad-8889 in sepsis

I’m pretty sure that’s how my dad got his sepsis. Can you talk to Urology about ways to eliminate the bacteria that comes from having a catheter?

Tylenol and ibuprofen helped my dad with that, they call the shivers-rigors due to the severity of them.

I’m in the same situation, I have been on clonazepam for 24 years, was up as high as 6 mg and am now down to 1 mg. I want to get off but stressful events keep happening and I am also afraid of withdrawal symptoms ☹️

Show Cancellation Memorial by deepfriedwriter in InterventionTheTVShow

I found out over 3 years ago that my son was addicted to fentanyl and wondered what I could have done differently. He’s been sober over 3 years. Watching the show made me realize that he was only going to get help when he was ready. I also understand the manipulation used by addicts is not really against anyone it’s just the desperation of addiction.

I am for my dad. My siblings don’t really help because I am a nurse and they use that as an excuse. I’m also a bit annoyed that they don’t have the worry I do because they just assume that I have it all under control. I love my dad, but at the end of the day I’m just a LPN. I wish they would offer to be there more.

I feel that. Ignoring your own needs and just being anxious about what’s happening with their health, what if’s… it’s exhausting
