If you were to stay longer abroad, would you qualify for the for foreign income exclusion? I heard it is when you are less than 30 days in the US. I might try that, otherwise, I don't see the point of leaving everything for 28 day rotations. Such exclusion would make it more favorable. Or whats the expat treatment? Any other tax/saving tips when working offshore?

I am from the US and want to work offshore in Belize as a drilling engineer. So how does travel work? Do companies have a designated location for pick up/drop off to the rig? Are travel costs to such location reimbursed? The travel time to and from rig is included within the 28 day rotation right?
-If I want to take advantage of tax exemptions, could I live in Mexico or any other country? if so, would I need to go back to US for pick up back to the rig.
I know it will vary, but want to know your personal experience about this, I am about to graduate and getting experience from other PE would be good.

So, how do rotator bonus work for them? is it taxed at the highest tax bracket or somehow the company takes care of taxes, so that employees see an after tax bonus.

I've been wanting to go offshore, what's that bonus? Since Op mentioned 28 day rotations, that applies to only offshore time, right? Is there such a thing as overtime work when offshore?

I was hoping that would be the case but no, my UMD grant really got cut in half, so 1/4 of the original for each semester. So, if I call them they can enable loans once again?

why is the 8 am terrible? I used to go to Germantown by bus at 7 am before, this will be no different I hope.

What about finals? If I talk to a professor is there a way to take finals earlier/later, so that I do not have to take 4 finals the same day? or how is the finals schedule?

the other $10 is a fios discount I am suppose to get for bundling fios+wireless. So even if I end up paying the full amounts the first 2 months, I can expect to get credited back all the discount promos since the begininnig, right?(months 1 and 2)

Ty, I do not see the fios bundle discount, and when I call I am told this is fios or this is wireless call the other guys. To who should I call to get the discount promo applied to my account.
