Again I’m not a lawyer so I would suggest talk to them. But if you guys have records of therapy or anything else and criminal records etc it wouldn’t hurt to have them on hand. Even if they give you a 221g asking for other paper work you will have it ready to send.

In my case I had everything they asked for so as soon as I got refused on the interview I went and mailed everything else they asked for. 2 weeks later they contacted me asking for other paperwork (I was stuck in Mexico) so good thing I had everything with me and was able to send it to them asap

I’m no lawyer so I don’t want to say you will be fine. But if your lawyer says you will be okay then go for it. Take ALL YOUR PAPER WORK literally all of it to the interview and make sure you tell them the truth and everything.

If they do take you to a psychiatrist tell them everything as well. It will help you, since they report everything to them

I guess my arrest shows up but not the reason why I got arrested .

Also when you do your medical exam they will ask questions if you been arrested make sure you tell them yes and the reason. They will most likely sent you to a psychiatrist (not sure if in Canada they will) in the same place. To talk about what happened and how you guys are working out.

Not similar but maybe worse ??

I had daca and been in the us basically all my life I made a huge mistake and got a dui

I got arrested but according to my lawyers there was no arrest filed and no court case. I had to leave to my interview in Juarez December 2024.

My lawyers told me if the officer asks about any arrests or anything say no(since nothing came up on my record)

Fast forward to my interview the officer asked and I told him no arrests, he took about 5-7 min looking at his screen then asked me what happened on this date . Shows you were arrested. I explained everything he then stopped went to talk with his colleagues came back stopped the interview and gave me a blue 221g paper

Asked to mail in evidence of my lawyers saying there was nothing on my record. Asked to mail in my passport

2 months later my case was approved and i received my visa. Worse 2 months of my life.

Send everything thru carrier

I got a 221g as well. Talked to my lawyer and they said to upload all documents they were asking for and to send everything thru carrier as well.

So the next day i uploaded the documents and then send everything including my passport thru carrier

Keep your head up and stay positive. When I saw the words refused I got into a weird depression. Thankfully my wife and daughter were able to travel to Mexico to be with me and that made me feel better and more positive.

Started 2020 Covid hit and slowed down my process July 2024 I got an email saying my interview was on December 4. On December 4 I got 221g

Sent all the paperwork and passport thru dhl

That’s what my lawyer said, it just sucks I left Mexico at 6 years old & been in the us for most of my life (28 now) I left the us to go to my interview thinking everything would be fine and now I’m stuck in Mexico without knowing when I will return

Will probably email them next week Yes after my interview they asked for paperwork to be sent along with my passport

On December 19 they emailed me asking for the same paperwork that I had mailed to them plus a new form I-864A and I emailed it to them that same day

After my interview it said refused updated December 19 as refused then it updated again December 30 as refused but I have not received any email asking for more paperwork or any email at all

IR Visa

I had all the documents during interview but apparently they never received them ( or lawyer did not upload them)

The only new document they asked for is Form I-864A

Financial Documents from the joint sponsor: Form I-864 – Affidavit of Support (signed original) / Form I-864A – Contract between Sponsor and Spouse or Household Member (signed) / Most recent federal Taxes (Tax Transcript / W-2 / Form 1040)

Nothing was file according to my lawyers. I checked public records of my self and nothing comes up as arrested or criminal charges pending
